Chapter 510
Curtis frowned, asking, “He’s the person you were talking about?”
“That’s right,” replied Dalton.
Sometimes, situations arose in which one needed to exercise discretion.
Felix spoke up at that moment. “Mr. Meyer Senior, Mr. Summers Senior, I’m expecting a guest back home. I’m afraid that it’s not an appointment I can reschedule, so I’ll take my leave first.”
After Dalton had escorted Felix out, Curtis started questioning him again.
“Are you sure he was the one who helped your family and that he didn’t ask for any reward?
Whatever the two old men discussed regarding the situation with Martial Alliance, it was no longer Felix’s concern. He had already achieved the outcome he wanted–although he knew that Curtis wouldn’t change his mind about him due to this incident alone, it was still a good start.
At that moment, there was an electric scooter lying on its side on a street in Canraville, and not far from the scooter lay an old man. There were many onlookers gathered around, and it was clear that there had been an accident.
“Dad! Dad!”
Just then, a muscular–looking man rushed past the crowd onto the scene. When he saw that the old man remained motionless despite his calls, eyes still tightly shut, his eyes
reddened.
“Who was it?” he asked fiercely. “Who ran into my dad?”
Not far away from the scene was Nancy, who was trembling violently.
“It was me,” she said shakily. “I’m sorry! I really didn’t see him! I’ve already called an ambulance. The responsibility falls on me.
The beefy man–Damon Brough–immediately rushed toward her, right fist raised to hit
her.
“Fuck you!” he roared. “My dad just had heart stent surgery barely more than a month ago! I’m going to kill you if anything happens to him!”
The reason his fist didn’t reach Nancy was because someone had caught him by the wrist.
“What’s happened has happened. What’s the use of beating her up now?”

At the sound of the familiar voice, Nancy looked to see that it was Felix–who had appeared who knew when–who had grabbed Damon’s wrist.
“Let go of me!” Demon bellowed.
Felix frowned, explaining, “I’m a doctor. I can tend to your father.”
When he heard this, Damon pointed a finger at Felix.
“Alright. If my dad pulls through today, then all I ask is a bit of compensation, and we can each go our own way. Otherwise, don’t even think about getting away unscathed!”
After casting Nancy a meaningful glance, Felix approached the old man. Along the way, overheard the whispers of the nearby onlookers.
“That poor lady,” one of them murmured.
“Why do you think that?” asked another.
he
“That old man is a habitual offender,” explained the first person. “He frequently staged his own accident at this intersection. I witnessed the accident firsthand–he tripped as he was running out and failed to control his momentum. That’s how he ended up getting hit by the young lady’s scooter head–on.”
“Huh? So he was an accident faker? That’s such a pity. No matter how it happened, she did actually hit him, so she won’t be able to escape the responsibility. Furthermore, his son doesn’t look like the decent sort, so it’ll definitely spell trouble for her.”
By that point, Felix had already kneeled down on the street. He had to admit that the old man’s condition was looking terrible. The collision just now may have caused the heart stent that had just barely been inserted to shift. They couldn’t afford to wait around for the ambulance.
