“Yes. Lady Summers is at the foot of the mountain,” Timothy said. 

“I’m not part of your organization, so there’s no point for me to claim credit. Give them all to Xena,” stated Felix. 

Watching Felix vanish, Timothy examined his battered body and sighed deeply. “Damn! The ladies really do have it better.”

At the mountain’s base, Xena and Alistair grew anxious as time dragged on. 

“Lady Summers, could something have gone wrong?” Alistair asked. 

Xena shook her head. “That’s unlikely. Timothy reached the level of Martial Saint last year. He should be able to handle Dexter.” 

Just then, Alistair spotted movement. “They’re coming!” 

They rushed forward, shocked to see Timothy’s battered state and torn clothes. “Did Dexter escape?” 

Timothy pointed. “His legs did. The rest of him is right here.” 

One of his men emerged as he dragged the unconscious Dexter over. The sight of his severed legs was gruesome, but the mission was accomplished. 

“You need treatment at the Wolfie troops base immediately.” 

Timothy waved it off. “Don’t worry. I’ll live. I know my own limits. But Lady Summers, you’ve caught another of the Thirteen Aces. This will cement your position. No one will dare question you behind your back now.” 

Xena started to nod, then caught herself. “Wait. What do you mean I caught him?” 

This was a major achievement. Though she and Timothy were friends, letting her take the credit seemed too generous. “I didn’t take him down. Look at me. I nearly died. I underestimated Dexter’s zombie creation. I couldn’t claim this victory.” 

Though Xena was confused, she quickly said, “But I can’t take credit, either. I just waited here.” 

Helpless, Timothy smacked his forehead. “I’m not explaining this well. Felix saved my life and captured Dexter. He said to give you the credit. Understand? It’d be a shame to refuse. Don’t worry about me. I know exactly what to report.” 

Xena’s eyes went wide. “Who did you say? Felix?”

Back home, Felix had barely reached his living room after parking when the doorbell rang. Seeing Yvonne at the door, he knew she must have been waiting for him.
