Businessmen were still businessmen, after all–they had a lot to consider. 

“Yes, Dr. Zeller,” Gilbert answered. 

As the two left the banquet, only Xena, Jordan, and three members of the Kinsley family remained in the reception 

room. 

“I don’t like to beat around the bush. You should understand the benefits of my visit today! You can also amplify these benefits, which can work in reverse,” Xena said harshly. 

Upon hearing Xena’s words, Wendy and the others changed their expressions. They wondered if this was a threat. 

However, it was undeniably a fact–if Xena wanted to take action against the Kinsleys, she could do so in the blink of an eye. 

“Xena, the Kinsleys have become the wealthiest in Avesburgh. While I can’t say they’re cunning, they certainly hold their own,” Jordan played the role of the peacemaker. 

Jordan had known Xena for quite some time. He understood how to navigate the situation. 

“You should also understand. After all, Mr. Kinsley Senior was once bedridden and in danger of losing his life. Xena’s actions are only natural! 

“How about this? If you can reveal the identity of that mysterious practitioner to me, my medical resources are at your disposal. Whenever the Kinsleys have such needs in the future, just one phone call will suffice,” he added. 

Though Jordan might not have been well–known among ordinary people, his mentor, Wesley, was a true master healer ranked fifth in Dragonia, giving weight to his words. 

For a moment, Wendy and Vincent were at a loss for words. They looked at Bernard, who had the authority to speak. He would know how to handle the situation. 

“Lady Summers! I have lived my life without ever owing anyone anything. My granddaughter has already sought the opinion of that young master healer, and he declined. Therefore, we cannot disclose any information. After all, he is my savior. If one lacks a conscience, what is the point of living?” 

Xena’s gaze was sharp as she looked at Bernard, who had fought through life for decades. Even with these life experiences, he was still overwhelmed by her glare. 

This was the demeanor of someone in a position of power. 

“I understand. Mr. Kinsley Senior is indeed a person of character. Let my visit today serve as a celebration of your recovery.” 

With that, Xena stood up to leave. She knew there was no point in prolonging the conversation or wasting time. 

Jordan remained silent. He recognized that Bernard was resolute. 

He was a person of principle, and threats or inducements would not affect him. 

Just as Xena was about to reach the door, Wendy suddenly spoke up, “Lady Summers, please wait!” 

Bernard’s expression instantly changed. 

“Wendy! How dare you!”
