“Alright. I’ll talk to him about him when he wakes up,” Xena replied. 

As they headed downstairs, they ran into Aimee, who had just entered the house. 

“Felix? Who let you in here?” 

Before Felix could respond, Xena frowned and interjected, “Aimee, don’t talk to Felix with that tone again, understood?” 

Aimee thought she had misheard. Her anger toward Felix flared up again. She had assumed that with the Greene family’s involvement, Felix’s fate would have been miserable. After all, families of that caliber rarely showed mercy to the people they had discarded. Yet here he was, still thriving. 

She had even sought answers from Nala, but there was no response. Seeing Felix standing in her own home was the last straw. 

“Does he even deserve my respect? Have you forgotten the evil things this coward did to Grandpa?” 

Xena’s expression turned icy. “That’s not your concern. Just don’t treat Felix like an enemy anymore.” 

Feeling utterly betrayed by her own family, Aimee clenched her teeth. Letting out a cold snort, she stormed off. There was no way she would accept Felix. 

“She’s just being childish. Don’t take it to heart,” Xena said apologetically. 

Felix simply nodded. How could he possibly care about the tantrums of someone like Aimee? 

When Xena returned upstairs, she found that Curtis had already opened his eyes. 

“Grandpa.” 

Sitting up slowly, Curtis sighed. “I was awake the whole time earlier. I heard everything he said. It’s my fault, not Mr. Meyer Senior’s. I insisted he teach me,” 

Xena smiled wryly. “Grandpa, why are you dreaming of becoming a martial artist at your age? If it weren’t for Felix, I don’t know what I would’ve done.” 

Unexpectedly, Curtis‘ expression turned stern. ‘Humph! You could’ve taken me to the hospital! Don’t your Wolfie troops have their own master healers? Why did you have to call Felix and embarrass me on purpose?” 

Seeing this, Xena decided it was time for some heartfelt words. “Grandpa, haven’t you already come to your own conclusions about… that incident?”

Curtis shook his head and walked out, leaving Xena standing there alone. Despite this, her 

mood wasn’t bad. 

It was clear Curtis‘ attitude toward Felix had softened, which was a good sign. On top of that, Madam Spring hadn’t made any moves for a while. Maybe this storm had finally passed, and her family could return to normalcy, 

At the neighborhood gates, Felix ran into Alistair, who seemed to be there to see Xena as well. 

“By the way, Mr. Zeller, the case involving those two Polaris members you fought last night has been closed.”
