George gave a bitter smile. “Mr. Zeller, don’t bother! It’s not your fault. No one expected Uncle Dominic to have this ace up his sleeve. Even if Moonshadow Alliance showed up now, it wouldn’t help.” 

Seeing Felix’s confusion, Ryan whispered an explanation, “Moonshadow Alliance is indeed powerful in Dragonia, and few dare disrespect them as you saw with the Walsh family. 

“But the Eight Great Martial Families are beyond that league. Moonshadow Alliance could barely challenge one or two of the lowest–ranked families, and that’s only with their founder involved. 

“George’s uncle has actually managed to invite Lady Grey of the Elders‘ Council. She seems influential just from her title. Offending her would mean making enemies of all Eight Great Martial Families. After all, the Council represents them.” 

Could Moonshadow Alliance barely challenge the lowest–ranked families even with their founder? Felix had an odd expression on his face. The Alliance was founded by Dahlia, who was second only to the powerful Eloise. 

If Dahlia had heard about this, she might not have spared the existence of the Eight Great Martial Families. But since that was what George believed, Felix could not be bothered to correct him. It was not a life–or–death situation anyway, so he did not plan to meddle. Just then, Lady Grey sat down and looked at Felix. “I’m glad to see you’re still alive, Felix.” Confused, Felix glanced over and sized her up. He had not met her before. “From the way you’re talking to me at our first meeting, you don’t seem to have good manners. 

George and Ryan were terrified. What was happening? Why were they clashing already when they had just met each other? George could see Dominic and Victoria watching intently, ready to intervene at the slightest provocation. 

“It’s true that we haven’t met, but I’ve heard much about you! Though others call me Lady Grey, I have a name. Does the name Pearly Grey ring any bells?” 

Felix now understood. So this was the woman who had an incident with Michelle’s boyfriend, Ryland. The Meadowspring incident and the Saphira family matter had all happened because of her. 

Looking at her, she seemed unremarkable except for her bearing. She hardly seemed like someone important. “No wonder you could command the Saphira family. So you’re Lady Grey from the Council. What, do we have unfinished business with each other?”

“Of course we do. I rarely lose in any games. Never mind Michelle and Ryland, I won’t possibly let you off. I’ve just been too busy to deal with you. Don’t worry. I’ll take my time and play with you.” 

Felix sneered and said, “You’re asking for death then.‘ 

George and Ryan gasped. How dare Felix speak to someone from the Elders‘ Council that way? Did he really fear nothing? 

“Let me take this call. Then we’ll discuss the opportunity I’m offering you.” Pearly stood and walked away with her phone. It must have been an important call for her to step out.
