“So, you’re the one meddling in other people’s business? I was expecting some kind of hotshot,” a voice taunted as two figures walked into the courtyard a young man and an older gentleman.

Louis glanced at the four writhing men on the ground. His expression tightened as he assessed their condition. Even a glance was enough to tell they had been subjected to 

extreme torture. 

Felix did not bother with greetings, shooting four silver needles into Matty and the others and causing them another wave of excruciating pain. Even Louis’s lips twitched 

involuntarily as he watched. He dared not imagine how horrible the pain was.

Felix’s piercing gaze fixed on Louis as he questioned, “If even a criminal understood that basic principle, how is it that you don’t?” 

Louis’s gaze hardened as he regained his composure. “Save your righteous nonsense for the afterlife. You can chat about morality with the devil once you’re dead.” 

Before he had even finished speaking, the older man vanished from where he stood. A second later, he reappeared, dangling mid–air with Felix’s hand wrapped tightly around 

his throat. 

Louis froze, his face draining of color. This was no ordinary fight. The older man was not just some lackey–he was a Martial God, someone whose strength allowed him to dominate in any major city. Yet here he was, subdued in an instant. 

“You’re overestimating yourself,” Felix growled.
