Queenie grew anxious. “This is life or death! You’re the doctor, and I’m the patient. What’s there to disagree about? Just tell me!” 

Felix had no choice but to explain everything. 

“When I checked your pulse, I detected 65 infection sites on your body. I can use acupuncture now to stop them from spreading so that no new spots will appear. But those spots need to be treated individually by hand with my 

needles. 

“Otherwise, you’ll be left with permanent red marks on your skin, and there could be other health impacts.” 

What? Queenie was stunned. There were 65 spots already! Now, she understood Felix’s awkwardness. “So you’re saying that regardless of where these spots are, you’ll need to see them all to treat them one by one, right?” 

Felix nodded. “Yes. Or I can contain the infection’s growth, and you can try the hospital instead.” 

He was not sure if modern medicine could treat this or how effective it would be, but he did not want to seem like he was taking advantage of a neighbor. If Willow heard about it, all his previous efforts could be wasted. 

After a long silence, Queenie made her decision. “Please treat me. I trust you. We haven’t known each other for long, but I know your character. To you, I’m just a patient. Let’s do 

this.” 

In the bedroom, after Felix pointed out all the spots, Queenie realized she would only be able to keep her underwear. Everything else had to go.

Felix did not rush her. He had already used needles to stop the infection from spreading. She needed to come to terms with this herself. The main concern was preserving her appearance. Otherwise, he could have worked blindfolded or treated larger areas at once. 

He had suggested alternatives, but Queenie had refused. What woman would accept having large red marks all over her skin? 

“I’m… ready.” Queenie closed her eyes as her clothes fell to the floor, keeping only the bare minimum covered.
