Yvonne appeared equally surprised to see Felix standing at the gate. 

“Have a safe trip, Ms. Cooper!” Queenie called from behind, her tone and expression revealing more than her words. 

Felix’s instinctive greeting died in his throat as Yvonne maintained her distance, aware that their connection had ended. She had only exchanged pleasantries at the wedding due to the crowd, knowing where to draw the line. 

After a moment’s hesitation, Felix broke the silence. “Yvonne, what brings you here?” 

“Just some business matters to discuss with Queenie,” Yvonne replied hastily, clearly caught off guard. 

Queenie looked between them with surprise. “You two know each other?” 

“She was a former patient of mine,” Felix explained with a smile. 

“Oh! What a small world!” 

Through their brief conversation, Felix learned that Queenie had recently been transferred to be the regional CEO of Stellar Group. 

After Yvonne left, Felix handed Queenie the local specialties he had brought, having initiated the earlier conversation to build rapport for what might come later. 

“Thank you for thinking of us neighbors while you were away,” Queenie said warmly. “By the way, are you joining us for the barbecue that Willow mentioned tomorrow?” 

“Yes, I’ve already agreed. See you, then.” Felix nodded.

That evening, Felix visited a bar at Isabella’s invitation–Nelly had called, insisting they thank him properly. 

“Felix, I hate formal restaurant dinners. This is much more relaxed, and I hope you don’t mind it,” Isabella said as they settled into the moderately quiet bar filled with young professionals. 

“It’s really not necessary to thank me,” Felix insisted, but Isabella would not hear of it. 

“Nonsense! You returned everything to Darren in just one day. You should have seen how happy he was! You helped us both tremendously, and since you don’t need money, at least let me show my appreciation this way.” 

A few drinks later, Felix received an urgent call from Kurt requesting to meet, so he sent over the bar’s location. Within two hours, Isabella was too drunk to lift her head, and Felix helped get her to the car, understanding now why Nelly had stayed sober.
