Felix focused on Cairo Crest, the man who had jumped from the fighter jet. He had a square face and carried an imposing presence. He was clearly no ordinary person as he radiated such a powerful air. 

Being able to command a fighter jet meant he had to be with the headquarters. After Aiden whispered something to him, Cairo said, “So you’re the Dragon Knight working under the Phoenix Warlord? Come here! I am the Tideborne Warlord.” 

Before Xena, there were the Four Great Warlords–the Shadowdragon Warlord, the Warlord of the East, the Warlord of Thunder, and the Tideborne Warlord. Felix had met the first three; today he faced the last. 

The Greene family must be so influential to be able to summon even a Warlord. They had clearly come prepared and détermined not to let the Frost Crystal slip away. 

As Felix approached, Cairo spoke again. “Give me the Frost Crystal.” 

Aiden smiled beside him. From his perspective, the Frost Crystal was as good as theirs. How could a mere admiral refuse a Warlord’s order? 

“Lord Cairo, the Frost Crystal is a prize from this mission. By the Phoenix Warlord’s orders, I must turn it over to headquarters,” Felix said simply. 

Cairo’s brows furrowed in displeasure. “Are you questioning my orders? Consider your position carefully. I’ll give you one more chance to answer. 

In the headquarters, defying a superior’s orders carried severe punishment. Even as one of Xena’s people, Felix was still subject to other Warlords‘ commands. The key factor was that Xena, the Phoenix Warlord, was not present. 

“Lord Cairo, this incident has major implications. Unless the Phoenix Warlord herself orders it, I cannot hand it over.” 

Major implications? Cairo knew of a significant operation near Pine Valley but hadn’t gotten the details yet. 

“This is my final warning! Hand it over, or face immediate dismissal!” In his eyes, Xena was nothing but an upstart. How dare she challenge a veteran Warlord? 

Felix was speechless. As expected, Xena couldn’t keep Cairo in check. Worse, he dared not call her since the Frost Crystal had been taken secretly. If that law–abiding woman found out, the consequences were obvious.
