As the clinic’s shutters came down, Felix took a seat. “Do you know why I agreed to see you?” 

Tom shook his head frantically, fighting another urge to urinate. 

“Please, living like this is worse than death.” For a grown man to sob so uncontrollably, it showed just how desperate he had become. 

Felix normally would not waste time on such trash, but the shadowstalker who appeared that night made him suspect a connection to Tom. Plus, with the Pine Valley incident also involving shadowstalkers, he might receive unexpected information from this. 

“On the night I inserted that needle, an Astorian shadowstalker tried to kill me at my home. What do you know about that?” 

Tom raised his right hand with an earnest expression. “I swear to God I had nothing to do with it. 

Felix smirked. He had ways to make Tom talk, but why would he bother when the situation would do it for him? 

“If that’s all, you can leave.”
