“Dr. Zeller, you can decide on how to deal with him. He brought this upon himself!” Wesley didn’t even want to know the details of what happened. 

If he didn’t make his stance clear right now, he himself would get in trouble once Gerald turned up. 

“Confine him for five years and ban him from stepping out into the world!” Felix left after saying that, leaving Jordan with a bitter smile on his face. 

The same words Felix had spoken earlier in the morning at the Traditional Medicine Association echoed in Jordan’s mind. He hadn’t expected Felix’s words to come true so quickly, nor did he have a chance to resist. 

“Mr. Cane, I’m sorry,” Jordan said. 

Wesley patiently listened to Jordan’s explanation. Then, he sighed and shook his head. “In the end, it’s all because of a woman’s charms! Luckily, Felix isn’t a ruthless man. If he really wanted to kill you, I wouldn’t have been able to protect you, either.” 

What else could Jordan do? He felt nothing but a sense of relief. 

“Mr. Cane, should I tell Xena about this?” 

“Who would have thought that the soon–to–be fiancé whom Xena never took seriously 

would turn out to be the miracle doctor’s apprentice, the man whom she had been desperately searching for? 

With his identity alone, it was no longer a question of whether Felix was unworthy of Xena. The tables were completely turned in this situation. 

“Don’t do that. How she interacts with others is her business. If you meddle, it could lead to worse consequences. Do you really want to rekindle this feud?” 

Wesley’s words woke Jordan up. Indeed, Felix must have had his reasons for not revealing his identity. Meddling would only make things worse for himself. 

When Felix returned home, his phone rang. The call was from Belle. Although he hadn’t saved the number, he recognized it at first sight. “What’s the matter?” 

“Felix, Lady Summers is inviting you to lunch tomorrow. The location is at… Don’t be late!” 

Felix frowned, feeling annoyed. “If you’re inviting someone to a meal, you should at least. be cordial. Are you ordering me around?”

“Kane, long time no see,” the man said. 

Kane’s expression shifted as he took a closer look at that man. “At your service, Mr. Rush. I’m Kane Guerra, deputy chief of Oasis Clinic.”
