Nancy was engulfed by a chilling emptiness, as if her heart had been violently ripped out, leaving a deep ache that threatened to overwhelm her.

Hayley was pregnant!

Deep down, Nancy had anticipated this day, yet the reality of it cut deep.

She watched Cyrus tenderly support Hayley, his eyes filled with unprecedented concern and fear, terrified of any harm befalling her.

Attempting to lighten the mood, Hayley chuckled, "Cyrus, don't be so overprotective. I'm not that weak..."

Visibly annoyed, Cyrus retorted, "How can you say that? You're carrying our future now."

As Hayley basked in the sweetness of Cyrus' words, her gaze inadvertently caught Nancy standing not too far away, causing her smile to falter instantly, "Mrs. Gordon, what brings you here?"

Not just Hayley but Cyrus followed her gaze only to find Nancy looking pale and frail, her eyes devoid of their usual sparkle.

Panicked, Cyrus withdrew his hand and rushed over. "Nancy, when did you wake up? The nurse didn't inform me."

Nancy's irony was palpable. Had the nurse informed Cyrus of her awakening, would she have witnessed this scene?

Nancy's gaze coldly swept over Hayley before settling on Cyrus again. "Aren't you going to explain?"

Without hesitation, Cyrus blurted, "She's a new talent signed under our label, pregnant with Norton’s child. Norton couldn't make it today, so he asked me to look after her."

Hayley paused, a smirk forming, "Besides, I haven’t walked away empty-handed. My child’s father has transferred a hefty sum into my account, not to mention the mansions he’s gifted me, despite my protests."

Nancy’s gaze turned frosty, her eyes briefly catching Cyrus' nonchalant face as if he was detached from the whole affair.

"Is that so? Ms. Grant, you'd better do your best. The Patel family has arranged a prestigious match for Norton. You know how this industry views actresses."

Hayley’s face fell, fully aware of the underlying scorn in Nancy's words.

With eyes brimming with tears, Hayley looked pleadingly at Cyrus. "Mr. Gordon, could you please take me home? I'm worried about running into paparazzi. It might harm the baby, and being a first-time mother, I can't take any risks."
