Nancy was initially tempted to pretend she hadn't noticed, but Judson looked so utterly defeated that it was impossible to ignore.

Nancy couldn't help but chuckle softly, "If you've got something to say, just say it."

"Nancy, you must have gone through a lot, haven't you?" Judson's voice was thick with emotion, the thought of Nancy being taunted by Hayley gnawing at him.

No one had ever really cared about how she felt. Wilma had stood up for her in the past, but her intentions were more about ensuring Nancy settled down with Cyrus, maybe even start a family.

He pulled her into a tight embrace, "Nancy, Cyrus is a complete jerk. Never forgive that jerk!"

Nancy looked up at Judson, feeling the warmth radiating from him, so close she could almost hear his heartbeat.

Her throat tightened, and she placed her hand gently on his back. "I know. I never planned to forgive him, which is why I left and disappeared."

She hadn't expected Cyrus to find her so quickly.

Judson seemed to sense her thoughts, looking at her with a determined seriousness.

"Nancy, don't worry. As long as I'm here, I'll make sure no one ever hurts you again!"

Nancy chuckled softly, "Well, you better work hard on that."

Even though she could take care of herself, it felt nice to have someone care.

Judson nodded earnestly, "I will. So, where are we headed now?"

"Back to a hotel, but a different one," Nancy replied honestly. There was no way she was going back now.

She planned to avoid Cyrus as much as possible from here on out.

"On our first anniversary, Hayley added me on social media, betting me whether I could keep my man at home that night."
