Nancy remained silent, her face clouded with a storm of emotions.
Cyrus' eyes were fixed on Nancy with an intense gaze. "Rankin, there's no need for introductions. Lena and I are well acquainted."
Nancy let out a cold laugh. "Not as well as you think, apparently."
The truth was, it was Nancy who knew Cyrus, not Lena. Yet now, she was Lena.
Rankin was clearly a shrewd guy, plastering a smile on his face. "No wonder Mr. Gordon wanted me to meet Miss Lena today. Seems like you two already know each other. Let's sit down and have a proper chat."
"If the Gordon Group is investing in this project, then we have no reason to collaborate," Nancy interrupted, her face still icy.
Rankin was taken aback, instinctively glancing at Cyrus.
Cyrus looked grim. "Rankin, step outside. I'd like to have a word with Lena alone."
Rankin hesitated for a brief moment before nodding decisively. "Yes, Mr. Gordon." With that, he quickly scurried out.
Nancy also turned to leave, having no intention of chatting with Cyrus, but she hadn't made it to the door when Caleb and his men blocked her path. Her eyes turned even colder as she glanced back to see Cyrus approaching.
"Cyrus, what are you trying to do?!"
Cyrus sneered. "Nancy, shouldn't I be asking you that? Baldrick and Michael can offer you opportunities, but so can I! And I can offer even better ones."
With that, he gave Caleb a look, who promptly shut the door with a resounding thud.
Cyrus could no longer hold back his emotions and grabbed Nancy's wrist tightly.
"Nancy, have you forgotten that I'm your husband? Yet here you are, living with other men, and I have to resort to this just to see you."
Nancy's eyes flashed with anger. "I've signed the divorce papers, Cyrus, and the person standing in front of you is Lena, not your wife."
At least in Country Mirellia, there was no Nancy anymore.
Those words cut through Cyrus' heart like a sharp knife.
Nor did he trust her character, which explained why they had reached this point.
Seeing Nancy's silence, Cyrus misunderstood, his eyes turning red with frustration. "Nancy, how could you do this to me? Do you have any idea how much I love you?"
"You love me?" Nancy found the words unbearably grating.
Love her, yet doubt her?
Cyrus' love was indeed 'precious,' but it was something she couldn't afford.
Seeing Nancy's mocking smile, Cyrus was filled with anger. "Don't I love you? I've proposed a hundred times, and now, even knowing you've erased your identity for someone else, I'm still here."
He was practically seething. "Is there anyone more wronged than me right now? Nancy, what more do you want from me?"
Listening to Cyrus' self-righteous accusations, Nancy felt nothing but disgust. "I don't need anything from you, and I'm not leaving with you. I was already with Judson long ago."
