Ramona forced a smile, one that didn't quite reach her eyes. "No hard feelings? Do you really think I don't know that Grey is still lying in the hospital, not even out of the woods yet?"
Malcolm's fingers paused mid-motion, and in the next moment, Ramona's face turned as cold as ice, leaving nothing but a chilling intensity and fierce determination.
She stared directly at Malcolm, a palpable aura of menace emanating from her entire being.
"Malcolm, I get that you and your mom are after Lena. Your family drama isn't my concern, but Lena is my business partner. Touch her again, and all bets are off with me."
In the cramped car, Ramona's icy demeanor made the air seem thinner, pressing down on Malcolm.
Narrowing his eyes thoughtfully, Malcolm asked, "Ramona, are you interested in Lena?"
There weren't many people for whom Ramona would go this far.
"Yes," Ramona admitted without hesitation. "If you'd seen her shows, you'd understand. Liking her isn't complicated."
Malcolm chuckled darkly. "So you're willing to fight me over Lena."
"If you keep your hands off Lena, we won't have any problems. Remember, Evergreen Global is your real enemy."
As if on cue, the car came to a smooth stop.
Ramona opened the door, her cool gaze lingering on Malcolm one last time. "Malcolm, are you sure you can handle both Evergreen Global and the Iverson family? Remember, I can be your enemy anytime."
Malcolm's face darkened, his fists clenching tightly.
Ramona let out a cold laugh, then stepped outside and slammed the door shut with a resounding thud.
The driver barely dared to breathe, casting a cautious glance at Malcolm. "Mr. Buchanan..."
Collecting herself, Ramona turned serious. "Lena, Malcolm wants to marry into the Iverson family. Rest assured, he won't be bothering you again. No one's going to mess with our partnership."
Nancy nodded subtly, taking in Ramona's determined stance. "I understand."
Judson, watching the exchange, couldn't hold back. "Nancy, everything's fine. Let's head back."
Watching Judson's softer side as he playfully took Lena's hand, Ramona couldn't help but chuckle. "Lena, your boyfriend's quite something. You two should head out; we'll be seeing a lot of each other soon."
Nancy nodded again, "You too, get some rest. Judson and I will take off."
Ramona gave a gentle nod, watching them leave, when a thought struck her. "Lena."
Nancy paused, her hand on the car door, turning back to Ramona, who looked at her sincerely. "Thank you."
