The room erupted in laughter from the other men.

Nancy's expression was grim, but she retorted, "And what about Ramona? Where have you put her?"

John sneered, "You can't even take care of yourself, let alone worry about Ramona. Whatever your fate is, hers will be the same, just with more men here."

With that, John stood up and walked over to Nancy.

He stared at her delicate face, a mess of beauty amidst chaos, and was momentarily entranced. John reached out to touch her cheek. "How are you this beautiful? I've never seen anyone like you."

Nancy turned her head away in disgust.

"John, this is a crime. Let me go, and I can pretend none of this ever happened. Ember can still walk the runway."

"Crime?" John laughed mockingly. "If paying for Ember is a crime, why hasn't anyone arrested me?"

He suddenly grabbed Nancy's chin, his smile vanishing into a dark scowl. "In this place, I make the rules. No one will save you, so you better cooperate, or we'll make you regret it."

"Why waste time talking?" a scar-faced man interjected impatiently. "If you're not going to take her, step aside."

Another chimed in, "Yeah, stop wasting time."

"Who said I wasn't?" John quickly responded, grinning. "I'm going in."

His eyes glinted with greed as he looked at Nancy. "Lena, the designer, I won't hold back."

As John lunged toward her, Nancy's heart raced, and she struggled fiercely, but she couldn't break free.

Feeling John's weight pressing down, her face turned pale, and she shouted, "Get off!"

John smirked. "I'll take you away soon. Since I first saw you, I've wanted this."

John swung a wooden stick at Judson. "You think you can just waltz in here and—"

But before he could finish his sentence, Judson sidestepped and caught the stick effortlessly.

John was stunned, trying to yank the stick back, but Judson's grip was ironclad. In moments, he had disarmed John.

"Did you drug Lena?" Judson asked, his voice cold, eyes devoid of warmth.

John opened his mouth to speak, but the look in Judson's eyes stopped him. It was as if Judson was staring at a dead man.

Fear prickled John's skin, but with so many men around, he mustered some bravado. "Yeah, so what? You think you can take us all on and save her—"

Bang!

John's words were cut short as the sound of a fight erupted.
