Nancy froze, puzzled. Gazing into Judson's worried and panicked eyes, the anger simmering within her gradually subsided.

"No needles, no hospital trip. I'll pop a pill," Nancy said, pulling her hand away and reaching into the drawer for a capsule, about to grab a glass of water.

Judson immediately grabbed her hand. "This water's too cold. Let me get you some warm water from the kitchen."

With those words, he dashed into the kitchen and returned within seconds, holding a glass, his face etched with concern.

"Babe, take your medicine. I'll watch you," he said, his demeanor resembling a child who'd done something wrong.

Nancy wasn’t used to this kind of attention. Quickly, she downed her water and swallowed the medicine, giving a small cough to show Judson she’d taken it, all while noticing the worry still etched on his face.

"Medicine's down. Now, let's get you to the police station," she said, trying to lighten the mood.

"No way! You're sick. I can't leave you." Judson took Nancy's hand, sitting beside her and holding her close.

"Nancy, you may not want to admit you're my wife, but in my heart, you're family. I'll go to the police station, but only if you're okay!"

Nancy couldn't help but laugh at his earnestness. As she was about to respond, her phone rang.

Frowning, she picked up. "Winnie?"

Winnie’s frantic voice broke in. "Lena, we’ve got a problem! Some thugs are wrecking the place!"

After her words, panicked screams from other staff members sounded over the phone.

Nancy's expression darkened instantly. "I'm on my way."

After hanging up, she reached for her car keys, ready to dash out.

But Judson was one step ahead, holding the keys. "Babe, you're in no condition to drive. I'll take you!"

Too urgent to argue, Nancy nodded grimly. "Then hurry."
