Judson's foot shot up before Mathew could finish his last word, sending another kick flying toward him. Mathew stumbled back from the force, his vision going dark as he passed out.
But as if feeling it wasn't enough, Judson raised his foot again with fury in his eyes, ready to unleash another blow.
A cold touch suddenly grasped his wrist tightly. "Judson, enough!"
Judson's fingers twitched, and as he turned, he caught sight of Nancy standing beside him with a look of disapproval. The fierce look in his eyes faded, replaced by a sense of grievance. "Nancy, he started it! He even threatened you!"
Nancy glanced at Mathew, a bloody mess, her eyes filled with disgust. "I know, but you've done enough already."
She feared Judson would kill Mathew if he continued. There was no need to risk their own lives over such scum.
As Nancy's voice faded, Neil's panicked voice came through again. "Miss Lena, did that jerk Mathew come looking for trouble with you? Don't worry. I'll take care of him!"
Sensing Judson's gaze, Neil's legs trembled uncontrollably, his breathing nearly stopping as he gestured to the security guards.
Two bouncers quickly rushed over, dragging the unconscious Mathew away.
"Uh, Mr. Buchanan, Miss Lena, I'll leave you to it." With that, Neil left, aware that stirring trouble in Judson's territory was like digging his own grave.
Judson gently shook Nancy's hand once Neil and the others were out of sight. "Nancy, let's head home."
Nancy remained silent, walking toward the car instead.
Catching her mood, Judson hurried to the driver's side and started the car, his voice soft: "Nancy..."
"Don't talk. I don't want to hear anything now," Nancy said coldly, not in the mood for jokes.
Nancy was angry!
