Her body felt cold and warm at the same time, and she couldn’t tell where she was. 

Suddenly, her long–developed alertness made her abruptly open her eyes. 

The shadowy dungeon and the endless expanse of icy water were no longer there before her eyes. 

She was sleeping in her room at Garrison Mansion. 

“You’re awake?” Her ear picked up the cool, collected voice. It was Jackson’s familiar voice. 

When she heard that, Oneida subconsciously lifted her eyes to look at him. 

Jackson was in a wheelchair next to her bed. 

His inscrutable and handsome face was emotionless, but he stared at her motionlessly with his dark gaze, as if they could draw people in. 

“You.” Oneida sat up on the bed, propping herself up, puzzled. “Was it you who brought me back?” 

After being imprisoned and submerged in icy water, she couldn’t recall what had happened. 

Although she vaguely remembered someone coming to rescue her, the memory was hazy, 

“No,” Jackson denied.

Seeing that, Oneida had no other choice but to lie down again. 

It was three o’clock in the morning, but she was wide awake.

The loud ringtone on her phone woke her up early in the morning
