Chapter 232
“Try this fish,” Oneida said softly to Jackson, pursing her lips.
As a wave of nostalgia swept through her, she gently lowered her gaze, reflecting her deep emotions.
Oneida remembered, in her previous life, that it was on such an ordinary evening that Jackson made her this steamed fish
He told her it was his favorite dish and hoped she would enjoy it too.
However, back then, she didn’t eat a single bite.
She didn’t like him, so she didn’t want to accept his flattery or ca the fish he cooked.
She had disregarded his feelings and disdained the steamed fish
Now, with time turned back, they lived another life. Oneida became the one cooking the fish.
She wondered if it was still Jackson’s favorite dish.
Hearing Oneida’s words, Jackson reached out with his fork, picked up a piece of fish, and put it into his mouth.
Oneida started studying his expression again.
Feeling her gaze, Jackson fleetingly hesitated, and he chewed a bit faster.
The steamed fish in his mouth tasted fresh and smooth, but not greasy.
Without a doubt, the fish was delicious.
However, Jackson didn’t know why Oneida had made this dish.
Steamed fish had always been his favorite.
But few people knew that.
Did Oneida accidentally make this dish, or had she specifically gone out of her way to find out his preferences?
Jackson’s eyes narrowed, and a silent radiance shimmered across his remarkably handsome face.
Seeing his continued silence, Oneida felt uneasy.
“What’s wrong?” Oneida asked with anxiety.
Jackson shook his head, saying calmly. “Nothing”
“It’s delicious,” Jackson added a moment later.
“Your cooking is surprisingly good,” Jackson commented casually as he laid down his fork.
Oneida chuckled as she touched her neck. “I’m pretty good at cooking, though I don’t do it often.”
Actually, there was a time when she worked at the best restaurant in the country.
Back then, many people came specifically to taste her dishes.
So, Oneida’s culinary skills were undoubtedly top–notch. It was just that she never really had a chance to display herself.

Jackson stared at Oneida intently.
Perhaps it was because of the steamed fish, or maybe it was this meal.
Jackson felt a sense of being cherished.
Oneida cherished him.
His mood seemed to brighten, a sudden surge of joy bubbling up within him.
“I really like them,” Jackson said calmly, his voice steady and his expression serene.
Hearing this, Oneida immediately flashed a bright smile and said, “Glad to hear that. Why don’t you have more?”
Under the soft glow, Oneida’s fair and tender cheeks seemed to radiate light, beautiful and dazzling.
Jackson’s image was reflected in her eyes.
Jackson watched Oneida, falling silent for a moment.
For an instant, he almost believed that perhaps Oneida was quite fond of him.
“You…” Jackson suddenly wanted to ask something.
“Do you have a crush on someone?”
Out of the blue, Jackson asked such a question.
Hearing this, Oneida widened her eyes slightly
She felt somewhat uneasy and at a loss.
Jackson’s intense gaze, like the fervent rays of the sun, made her skin flush red.
She pressed her lips together and remained silent.
Seeing her reaction, Jackson frowned.
Oneida looked weird now.
She appeared a bit guilty.
“Even if you do, it doesn’t matter, Jackson said, his voice chilling slightly. “I won’t mind.”
However, when he said this, his eyes looked stern.
“It’s not like that…” Oneida wanted to explain.
However, Jackson didn’t give her a chance..
He personally forked a drumstick into her mouth.
“Mmm. Oneida, caught off guard, opened her eyes wide in surprise.
She was so adorable at this moment.
A fleeting smile quickly crossed Jackson’s lips.
That smile was brief and shallow,
Chapter 282
It seemed that his previous displeasure had faded as well.
“Eat more,” Jackson said softly, his eyes lowered.
Oneida simply obeyed and started to munch on the drumstick in her mouth.
Just like that, the sensitive topic was glossed over.
Both enjoyed their meal immensely.
They nearly cleaned up the whole table, leaving almost nothing wasted.
The next day, Oneida received a call from Rowan.
“Ongida, great news!” Rowan’s voice quivered with great excitement and joy. “Have you heard about Roxanne?”
Oneida remained composed and asked, “Shouldn’t Roxanne be at the police station?”
Rowan nodded and replied, “Exactly, and her parents came to school today to withdraw her enrollment.”
Did Roxanne drop out?
That was something Oneida hadn’t expected.
“So?” Oneida remained calm, her face betraying no emotion.
