Chapter 246 

Fiona didn’t say anything else but just stared at the back of Oneida. 

She subconsciously clenched her fists and then turned around. 

She thought, ‘My plan is about to start. 

‘Oneida, you won’t be happy for too long. 

Oneida had some fun with Snowy for a while in the manor. 

Snowy was Jackson’s dog. 

But Jackson didn’t treat it as a child like other dog owners. He just kept it in the manor. 

He would only check up on it when he was free. 

Oneida took Snowy for a walk for a while and then went back to her room. 

Then she got a message. 

It was from Jackson. 

She frowned in confusion. 

She thought, ‘I’m at home. Why did Jackson send a message? He can just talk to me. 

‘It’s so awkward.’ 

Oneida clicked on the message. 

The message 

read: [I’ll wait for you at 6 o’clock tonight in the Urbane Restaurant. I’d like to treat you to dinner to thank you for cooking for me last time.] 

Oneida was slightly stunned after reading the message. 

Then she suddenly felt a little happy. 

Jackson wanted to treat her to dinner. 

Thinking of this, Oneida couldn’t help smiling. 

She wouldn’t refuse, of course. 

She thought, ‘Is this my first date with Jackson?‘ 

Oneida opened the door and walked out of the bedroom to go to Jackson 

She thought, ‘Why did he text me instead of telling me in person?‘ 

Compared with a cold message, she preferred Jackson to invite her personally. 

She bumped into Carlos halfway across the corridor. 

Seeing Oneida here, Carlos immediately understood her intention and asked, “Mrs. Bane, are you going to Mr. Bane?” 

Oneida stopped and nodded.

Carlos said gently, “I’m sorry, but Mr. Bane has already left the Garrison Mansion.” 

“He’s not home?” Oneida was surprised. 

He thought, ‘Why did Jackson always go out recently? 

‘He really seems to be different from before.‘ 

“Yes,” Carlos nodded. 

Oneida pursed her lips and remained silent. 

She thought, ‘No wonder he texted me instead of telling me in person. 

‘He wasn’t even in the Garrison Mansion. 

‘Is he already going to the Urbane Restaurant?” 

Thinking of this, Oneida hurriedly said goodbye to Carlos and went back to her bedroom. 

She needed to get dressed quickly. 

Oneida walked into her cloakroom and glanced around her countless clothes. 

She didn’t wear dresses very often. 

But she felt that she needed to dress softly to see Jackson today. 

Therefore, she chose a light pink chiffon dress and wore a white pearl necklace. 

Oneida looked less arrogant but gentler in the mirror. 

She put on light makeup, looking gorgeous and elegant. 

When everything was ready, it was almost time. 

It was time to go to the restaurant. 

Oneida asked the chauffeur to drive her to the Urbane Restaurant. 

The Urbane Restaurant was a famous foreign restaurant. 

Oneida had never been there, but she had heard of it. 

Oneida’s eyes were filled with expectation when she stood at the door of the Urbane Restaurant. 

Thinking of having dinner with Jackson later, she couldn’t hold back her smile. 

Then she pushed open the door of the restaurant. 

A waiter in a suit greeted her immediately. 

Oneida thought that Jackson should have made a reservation, and he might even have arrived, so she mentioned it to the 

waiter. 

Hearing that, the waiter immediately understood and led Oneida to a luxury private room. 

“Miss, this is the room reserved by that gentleman,” the waiter opened the door and said gently to Oneida.

Oneida glanced around the room subconsciously. 

The interior decoration was luxurious and exquisite. 

But there was no one in there. 

Jackson wasn’t there. 

Oneida thought, ‘I arrived before him?‘

The waiter had already left the room silently and closed the door. 

Seeing that the door was closed, Oneida had a strange intuition. 

She finally felt something was wrong. 

She let her guard down because of joy and expectation before. Now she became vigilant again. 

Jackson didn’t show up. 

There must be something wrong. 

Just then, Oneida suddenly smelled a faint fragrance.

This fragrance was very special and she had never smelled it before. 

It smelled good but was also a little uncomfortably sweet. 

Oneida immediately held her breath. 

She knew that this kind of fragrance was probably harmful.
