Chapter 71 

Oneida returned to the Quakersville mansion again after many days. 

As soon as the door opened, she was greeted by Edmund. 

“Oneida.” His eyes shone brightly, and a hint of joy flickered in his eyes. 

He hadn’t seen Oneida in a long time. 

“Edmund.” Oneida smiled at him and walked inside. 

But Edmund stopped her in front of him. 

“Oneida.” He pursed his thin lips and hesitated. “Mom and Dad are a little angry now… Don’t mind what they say.” Edmund continued with a firm tone, “Anyway, I will always stand by your side.” 

Oneida patted his shoulder and smiled. “I know.” 

She felt that Edmund was becoming more and more adorable. 

The two of them walked into the hall together. 

The atmosphere there was cold and heavy. 

Tatiana sat on the couch with a grim face, while Lucas also furrowed his brows, looking troubled. 

Jennifer, on the other hand, stood at the side silently, appearing indifferent to the situation. 

When she saw Oneida come in, she gave her a cold glance. 

With a bang, the door closed. 

Tatiana didn’t say anything. She simply picked up a vase at hand and hurled it straight at Oneida. 

Fortunately, Oneida was agile and dodged the dangerous attack with a swift sidestep. 

The vase crashed onto the ground and shattered into pieces. 

“You, jinx!” Tatiana gritted her teeth and glared at Oneida as if she was about to rush over and tear her apart in the next second. 

Oneida felt nothing but irony. 

Tatiana was her biological mother, yet she treated Oneida as if the latter was her greatest enemy. 

If it were Jennifer who had angered the Lindt family, would she be that angry? 

In her past life, Oneida realized that Tatiana had not given her a single bit of maternal love. 

Therefore, in this life, she wouldn’t hope for any change in Tatiana’s attitude toward her. 

“Mom, can’t you speak nicely?” When Edmund saw Tatiana hurl a vase directly at Oneida, he couldn’t help but clench his fists and scowl. “What if she gets hurt?” 

“It’s better if she does!” Tatiana replied calmly, “I can take that as an explanation to the Lindt family.” 

“Okay. Just calm down. You can’t resort to violence regardless,” Lucas urged. Then, he sighed and frowned at Oneida. “Ida,

Just then, a phone call came in. 

Tatiana picked it up immediately.

With that, she hung up the phone. 

Tatiana’s gaze was as sharp as a blade as she stared straight at Oneida. “Mrs. Lindt has arrived at the manor, and she said she wants to see you…” 

“Really?” Lucas‘ eyes widened in disbelief. 

The fact that Hailey had personally come made the situation even more serious.
