Of the Internet stories I have ever read, perhaps the most impressive one is The Shadow Alpha. The story is too good, leaving me with many doubts. Currently, the manga has been translated to CHAPTER FOURTEEN. Let's read the author's The Shadow Alpha Internet story right here.
~Dream~
I took in the familiar surroundings with confusion; I was standing in the meadow under the huge Willow tree behind the cement bench that over looked the Northern Border of the Blue Moon Pack territory.
Two contrasting figures occupied the bench before me, by the silver moonlike glow of her beautiful, waist long hair I knew that it was Mother Selene, the person seated next to her however, had a mop of dark brown hair that was just begging me to run my fingers through to feel its softness.
“Who are you?” the boy asked and my suspicions were confirmed, I’d know that voice anywhere.
“I am the Goddess Selene; you may call me Mother Selene.” She answered him in the same way she did me the first time I sat across from her the way he was right now.
“Mother… how is this possible?” he asked in awe earning a soft smile from her.
“It is possible, because I make it possible. I have come to ask a favour of you, Devin.” he stared at her with curiosity burning in his grey eyes.
“You will find your mate soon-” his eyes lit up and a grin settled on his face, “I have come to ask you to reject her.” his smile dropped in a millisecond and was replaced by a bewildered look.
“What! Why would I do that?” he asked as if she was crazy. She placed her delicate hand on his and squeezed soothingly, he was powerless against her comfort and his tense state loosened up instantly.
“One day you will understand why I have asked this of you and when the time is right you will meet again. You must trust me my child. Set her free.” She said softly and he got a defeated look in his eyes that made me gasp.
Just like that the scene faded away before he could answer.
~End of Dream~
I woke with a start, panting for breath with my body was drenched in sweat.
What was that all about?
Why did I have that dream?
Was it true?
Did she really ask him to reject me?
Every question that ran through my mind was left unanswered, but they never stopped.
Would he have accepted me had she not asked him to reject me instead?
What would life have been like had she not asked that of him?
Was this dream even real or was it my mind cooking up a scenario based on his sudden appearance in my life?
I laid there thinking, every question confusing me more than the last. I tried to make sense of it all, but no avail and after a long while I attempted to fall asleep again, but sleep wouldn’t take me.
Heaving a heavy sigh I stood up, deciding to visit the infirmary and check on our guests. I brushed my teeth and took a quick shower to wash away the lack of sleep before walking down to the infirmary that was situated behind the pack house.
I poked my head into each room and smiled at the sight of my Beta and Theta sleeping peacefully on chairs beside their mates.
It was still dark, but there would be a nurse on duty so I walked to the nurses’ office without checking on our third guest, I was surprised to find Lexi seated on the couch with her head buried in a book.
“Lexi?” her head snapped up and her eyes widened at the sight of me in the doorway. She shot up from her seat, threw the book down and rushed to my side.
“What are you doing down here at this time? Are you okay, are you hurt?” she panicked, but calmed down when I gave her a small smile,
“I’m fine, just couldn’t sleep so I decided to come down and check on them.” she was about to reply but I cut her off when I heard a startled gasp from one of the other rooms, I placed my hand over my lips in a ‘shh’ manner and gestured for her to follow me.
We walked down the hallway allowing my heightened senses to guide me in the direction of the laboured breathing that followed after the gasp; the sound was coming from the room of the older woman who killed the rogue.
