Dive into Chapter 2, a pivotal chapter in The Strong Bond, written by Christina Marie. This section features emotional turning points, key character decisions, and the kind of storytelling that defines great Internet fiction.
Damian looked over the cut the little girl had on her knee before he began to lick the wound. He knew the saliva from him would help heal the wound within hours. If his wolf wasn't in full control he would have been long gone before approaching the child, but his wolf wanted reassurances that the child would be okay. Helping her heal her wound would put his wolf at ease, and he could get out of there.
"It's you, you're the wolf from the stories my Nana tells us" The little girl spoke as he takes a step back from her. "The big bad wolf" She adds in a whisper, but more in an awe tone. Wondering what the hell she was talking about, he eyes her confusingly. She went to talk some more till she noticed Damian went still. He heard footsteps making their way closer to them. Once sensing the person wasn't a threat to the child, Damian was off the opposite direction not looking back.
For the next week Damian kept replaying that day in the woods in his head. He was wondering what the little girl meant about the stories of this big bad wolf that she thought was about him. What had him more stumped is how she was not afraid, and had a look of admiration. Even his own packed feared him, so why didn't this girl? This made his wolf more protective of her. Though he vowed to never have a mate or ever let her know of him. He would always look after her from a distance to satisfy his wolf. His little red he called her.
Since that day in the woods Lena did not tell a soul of her encounter of the legendary wolf. She doubted anyone would believe her even if she did. Lena thought about him some more, and realized he didn't seem so scary to her. Something about him drew her in wanting to know more about him. If he was this horrible bad ass wolf that had so many fearing him, then why was he so concerned about her wound? She only hoped she would soon run into him again. Then again Lena didn't want to get her hopes up seeing how no one ever really sees him, or if they had they didn't live to tell about it. Though Lena felt deep down that she would never have to worry about him hurting her.
(11 years later)
"Are you excited for the Halloween party?" Blair asks Lena during lunch.
"I don't understand why everyone is so excited about? Seeing how Alpha Grayson, and the Luna will be there" Lena points out.
"So when does that stop anyone from having a good time?" Blair asks with a knowing look. Lena just shrugs her shoulders not wanting to talk about the party anymore. That's all anyone has been talking about all week. Both girls sat there picking at their food when a chair next to Lena was pulled out. Now sitting next to her was no other than Alpha Grayson's son Keith.
"Hey Keith" Blair gushes.
"I'm not taking a no for an answer this time Lena! So I will pick you up at seven sharp" With that said Keith leans in placing an innocent kiss on her cheek. Standing up he pushed his chair back, and walks away. Blair bursts out laughing at her cousin who was sitting there still staring at the spot Keith was just occupying moments ago.
"The future Alpha has spoken" Blair blurts out through her fits of laughter as tears form in her eyes. Lena snaps her head over to her giving her an evil look. Then quickly notices she was getting evil looks from other females nearby as well.
Keith was a good looking guy don't get her wrong, but he was more of a friend to her. She grew up with Keith, so she looked at him differently than the other she wolfs did. No one in her school has ever caught her attention, and Lena wasn't sure why that was. Then again Lena really did know deep down why she never gave the guys her age the time of day. It was because of the dark mysteries man that haunts her dreams every night.
Lena decided against being a sexy witch her cousin wanted her to be, and went with something she hasn't been in years. Slipping on the long sleeved cream color dress that was tight on top, and the bottom had a shaggy look that stopped mid-thigh. She wished she tried it on before tonight, but would have to deal with her boobs being pushed up for display for the night. Though she was surely to be more covered up then the other females that would be attending the party. Putting on a brown leather belt that would hang loose around her hips, giving her look more of a rustic style. She left her long thick brown hair in lose elegant waves, and her make-up natural. Though she did apply on the mascara a little thicker for tonight, because it made her sea green eyes stand out more. Looking at the time she realized she needed to hurry, because Keith would be there in five minutes. After tying up her knee high brown boots she threw her long deep red hooded cape around her neck. Grabbing her little picnic basket, she headed down the stairs just in time to hear the doorbell go off.
