Lena listened to her cousin's story in awe, and was happy that she found her mate. For a brief moment, she felt a ping of jealously. She replayed how her run in with her mate was, and it wasn't heart pounding as Blair's. Even though they came a long way since then, she still wishes she didn't have to sneak around to be with him. Maybe soon, now that Blair's mate is in the same pack as her mate. She can finally be with him like mates should be, but something deep down had her thinking otherwise. Once Blair was done day dreaming of recalling her run in with Ashton, she went on with the rest of the story. "I was so caught up in the moment that I didn't hear someone calling my name. I was yanked away bringing me back to my senses, and that's when I saw Keith growling at Ashton telling him to stay away from his pack members. From there things got out of hand as you know"
Both girls kept picking through the food as Lena filled Blair in about her attack. Which brought up the question Blair has been dying to ask.
"So, don't you think it's weird how Damian protected you that day?"
Lena froze a moment, but tried to play it cool when she responded to her cousin "No, I just felt like he was just protecting an innocent person. I don't know why everyone is trying to read into it so much"
"Because this is Damien Shaw we're talking about! The most feared Alpha known among our kind, and no ever seen him get that defensive over someone. Not even his own pack members!" Blair stated like it was this huge unsolved mystery.
"We don't know if that's true Blair. We can't just assume all the stories we heard are a 100 percent true. Plus, I'm just thankful I'm alive, and so should everyone else"
"I don't know. When I even try talking to Ashton about it he tries to play it off like it's nothing either. Even though we are not fully bonded yet, I can tell he knows something. But isn't telling me for some reason. I know you better than everyone else, and you're not telling me something either. You know you can trust me, right?" Blair reminded her.
Lena knew she could trust her cousin, but it wasn't just her in this situation. She had to think about Damien, and how this effects his life as well. Maybe seeing how Blair was mates with Damian's Beta it would be okay to tell her. Plus, Ashton shouldn't be lying to his mate, because mates should be able to confide in each other no matter what. Just as she was about to say something to her cousin a loud crash erupted their ears. Both girls look at each other confused before jumping off the bed, and running towards the French doors in Blair's room. Each swung a door open running on to the balcony. They looked over the edge to see Keith, and Damian ripping off they're in anger. Keegan and Ashton looked somewhat amused at was happening, as they stood behind their alphas.
"This can't be good" Lena mumbles as she jumps up on the edge of the balcony.
"I'm fine" she said cover her wound. "Just a little scratch" she shrugged like it was nothing. Once again Keith apologized, and Lena assured him it was okay.
"It's not ok, he could have killed you!" Damian roared trying to control his temper. "Once again your future alpha fails to protect one of his pack members" He adds.
"Damian" Lena whispers softly not wanting this to start a fight.
"You should be the one to talk" Keith starts as he points a finger at Damian. "As I recall it was one of your members that tried to kill her" He reminds him, but continues through clench teeth. "No one in my pack as ever try to kill an innocent person"
