The Strong Bond novel Chapter 77

"Hey, I would like to apologize" Milo spoke earning a growl from Damian.

"Stop, you baboon" Lena tells Damian as she smacks his arm giving him a warning look.

"Really there is no need, we both were protecting people we care about" she explained. "And so was your sister" she quickly added, but Damian growled again remembering the pain she was in. Lena just rolled her eyes knowing he was just being protective.

"No, I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions like that" he admitted trying to hid his embarrassment.

"How about we just forget today ever happen, and start over fresh tomorrow?" she suggested.

"Deal" he smiles.

"Plus, I think your sister and my brother could use some time to talk this over"

"Yeah, but I'm still not happy how she found him" he mutters.

"I know, and I sure he has a good reason. If not, I'll kick his ass for you" she tells him winking, that seem to make him laugh.

"Sounds good. Now I need to apologize to Alpha Grayson" he then excused himself. That reminded Lena she wanted to talk to him more, but needed to let Damian know first. Goddess knows he wasn't going to like it, but she missed her friendship with Keith.

"Not till you talk to me first" he snapped back, pinning her arms above her head. Both of-them were breathing heavily from all the running, but now they finally took in each other's features. Jay never seen a more beautiful woman in his life, he thought. Sure, all mates thought the same thing about their better half's, but she was different. She was exotic to him in so many ways. Her platinum blonde hair laid around her smooth cream color round face. Perfect arched eyebrows set above her big colorful eyes, that he knew would make him do anything that she asked. He's eyes linger down to her cute button nose he wanted to kiss. That was till his eyes settled on her very plump pouty lips that made him drool.

Cornelia sat under her mate's gaze feeling the burn from his hands that held her arms above her head. Something in her stirred as his eyes racked over her approvingly. Even though she was royal pissed at how she found him, she couldn't help the attraction she felt towards him. She would be lying to herself, and every woman alive if she didn't admit how sexy we is. He was much taller than her with a lean cut muscular body, and broad shoulders. She was instantly jealous of his define cheekbones, but loved the manly stubble across his strong jaw line. Then there were his almond shaped eyes that held the prettiest, breathtaking sea green color she ever seen before. She always got compliments on her eye color, but his were something to get lost in, she thought to herself. After several moments admiring each other Jay finally broke first.

"Now will you let me explain, so we can start over" he asked, his voice was deep and somewhat pleading. That voice, she thought. That voice sent chills throughout her body. Just hearing him speak like that would be her undoing. Not able to trust her own voice, she just nodded to him.

"I promise whatever you saw earlier wasn't what you think" he began, and Cornelia just snorts. "Listen" he urges. "A buddy at my school wanted me to do a favor for him. His sister is seeing this guy from Alpha Pierces pack, and heard he was messing around on her. He was told that there was this one chick who would know for sure. And seeing how he had a mate he couldn't approach her in a flirty way. So at the time I was mateless, so I said I would for him, and that's what you saw. I didn't do anything but try to flirt answers out of her, I promise" he explained. Cornelia looked at him for any sign of dishonesty, but felt deep down he was telling the truth. "So, can we please start over" he pleads. She bit her lip to stop a smile forming on her lips, she didn't want him to think she would cave so easily every time.

Jay groans deeply, seeing her bite on her bottom lip like that. He reaches out with one hand, and runs his thumb over her bottom lip before pulling from her teeth. "You can't do that" he told her huskily.
