Hendrix drove to Galaxy Grove. 

Noelle had expected him to come, so when she opened the door, she didn’t look the slightest bit surprised. 

Hendrix looked inside the house first. 

“He went on a business trip,” Noelle said to him, as if she knew what he was searching for. 

Hendrix smirked. “You think I’m afraid of him?” 

“I didn’t think much of it, but after all, he’s my boyfriend. The way you’re acting so self–righteous doesn’t seem quite appropriate, either.” 

As she spoke, Noelle had already turned around. “Come in.” 

Hendrix pressed his lips together and, in the end, followed her inside. 

This was his first time entering the place. Last time, he had only made it to the door. Now, stepping inside, he noticed that the decor was entirely different from when she lived on Serene Street. 

Cool gray and white tones, a slightly cluttered table, and a cabinet across from it filled with bottles of alcohol. 

Honestly, this kind of felt more like a place he would live in 

Soon, Hendrix’s eyes fell on the medical kit on the coffee table, which even had iodine and bandages ready. 

He couldn’t help but smile. “You’re accurate when it comes to expectations.” 

The corners of his lips lifted slightly. Even with injuries marking his temples and cheeks, his face remained strikingly handsome. However, his eyes seemed coated with frost, void of any warmth. 

Noelle met his gaze for a moment, then sat down on the couch. Her voice was calm as she said, “Sit down. I’ll disinfect your wounds.” 

She reached for the iodine with steady hands, her gaze on Hendrix unwavering and resolute. 

At that moment, Hendrix knew he should turn around and leave.After all, the irrational things he’d done lately were more than enough. 

He wanted to win her back. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been circling around her all this time. But he couldn’t bring himself to completely discard his pride. 

Like now… Being toyed with and trampled on by her. He wasn’t insane, and yet, at this moment, he couldn’t move. 

He watched her with his hands clenched tightly at his sides and his veins bulging along his forearms. 

For a fleeting moment, the urge surged within him to kick ever the coffee table and pin her beneath him to question and possess her. 

Either option was within his grasp. Yet, in reality, he slowly sat down. 

Noelle quickly picked up a cotton swab and the iodine to tend to his wounds. 

The sting of the antiseptic pricked at his skin, but Hendrix ignored it, his gaze fixed downward on Noelle before him. 

She had already taken a shower. Now, she wore a simple nightgown, her long hair cascading over her shoulders, exuding a gentle softness he found so familiar. 

Yet, as he took her and her surroundings in, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of dissonance. And, he couldn’t help but grab her wrist. 

This stunned Noelle, who looked up. 

“Why?” he asked.
