Hendrix stared at the photo for a long time. 

When Dan and the manager of the development department came to report, they noticed that he wasn’t responding. It was at this moment that Dan noticed Hendrix looked off. “Mr. Freeman?” 

Upon hearing Dan’s voice, Hendrix finally looked up. His eyes remained calm when he did so. 

Dan even thought he saw it wrongly, but he didn’t say anything and just handed him the documents. “These are from the development department. You need to sign them. 

Hendrix nodded and took his pen while Dan and the others stood beside him, waiting 

Based on Hendrix’s usual speed in scanning through and signing the documents, it usually took only a few short seconds. But this time, they noticed that his gaze remained fixed on the first page. 

“Mr. Freeman?” 

Dan could only remind him, but the manager’s voice was already shaking. “Mr. Freeman, i–is something wrong?” 

Hendrix did not say anything and just flipped through the pages before landing the tip of his pen on the signature 

line. 

However, he stopped there. Dan could see the veins on his hands as well as his shaking fingers. 

“Mr. Freeman, are you okay? Are you feeling sick?” 

Hendrix did not reply, nor could he reply. At this moment, he felt like something was stuck in his throat, and he could feel a bloody taste in his mouth as something surged up from his stomach. 

However, he tried his best to swallow it back downL 

He didn’t know what to do. 

He couldn’t even read a single word on the documents. He also had no idea how to sign the name he had signed ever since he was young. 

Finally, the fountain pen scratched a harsh line across the paper. 

The person standing nearby was so terrified that he couldn utter a word, his mind frantically searching for the content of that particular document while mentally cursing their entire department. 

Amity Group had recently seen quite a few employees leave leaving everyone walking on eggshells. People didn’t even dare to look at Hendrix for more than a second on a normal day. 

He couldn’t believe that today was his turn! 

Hendrix suddenly closed the papers and said, “Get out.” 

“Huh?” the man blurted out instinctively, but Dan quickly gestured for him to go out. 

When the door closed, the man asked Dan, “Mr. Hurley, is the document okay? Mr. Freeman seems kind of pissed just now. Did 1…“.
