Chapter 367 

As soon as Beatrice finished speaking, Hendrix clenched his fists. 

Noelle, seated beside him, could clearly hear the grinding of his teeth and see the bulging veins on the back of his hands. She knew that Hendrix wasn’t afraid of competing with Nathan. What really set him off was that the one helping Nathan would be Beatrice. 

For some reason, she felt an urge to reach out and hold his hand. However, after her fingers twitched slightly, she ultimately decided against it. 

Hendrix quickly regained his composure and said, “Since you’ve already made your decision, what’s the point of telling me now?” 

“It’s only right to inform you. After all, you’re the company’s general manager,” Beatrice replied, her tone as 

calm as ever. 

Hendrix let out a laugh, but this time, it was cold. “Well, then, thank you ever so much for the heads–up.” 

With that, he stood up abruptly. “I take it you’ve said everything you needed to? So, can we leave now?” 

“If you’re busy, you can leave first. I still have something to discuss with Noelle.” 

What could you possibly have to say to her?” 

“That is between us. Are you really that uneasy about me just saying a few words to her?” 

Hendrix fell silent. He pressed his lips together and glanced at Noelle, who showed no sign of objection. 

For some reason, Hendrix suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of powerlessness wash over him. It was the kind of helplessness that came from standing alone on a ship, facing countless enemies with no one by his side. 

He had always thought that the only person standing against him was Nathan. Although Ophelia had taken the initiative to bring Nathan back, she had ultimately remained neutral. 

But now, the one person he believed should unquestionably stand by his side–his mother–had chosen to side with Nathan instead. 

And more than that, there was Noelle. 

“I’ll wait for you outside,” Hendrix finally said in a hoarse voice before turning and walking out. 

Beatrice paid him no mind, merely shifting her gaze to Nathan, who hadn’t been able to get a word in since earlier and whose expression seemed a bit flustered 

“You should head to the company first,” Beatrice said to him. “I’ve already arranged everything with Mr. Vance. Just follow his head, and if you have any questions, you can come to me.” 

“Thank you, Mrs. Freeman.” Nathan nodded at her. “But if we do it this way, won’t Hendrix-” 

“Don’t worry. You two are brothers. For him to be well, you need to be well first. He’ll come to understand that,” Beatrice replied in a gentle voice, smiling warmly at him. 

After thanking her a few more times, Nathan finally got up and left. 

Noelle sat quietly, waiting for Beatrice to speak to her. 

“How have you and Hendrix been doing lately?” Beatrice suddenly asked. “You even went to Mondivera with him recently, didn’t you? Did you have a good time?”
