Then, the figure turned around and asked, “You’re awake?” 

As she drew closer, Hendrix’s tender expression disappeared. 

“I had such a fright! I’ve been summoned for shift work in the emergency department, and I’ve been so busy the past few days. I finally had some time to check my phone, and I saw the news about you. 

“I thought something bad had happened to you. Thank goodness you’re okay.” Olivia Garnet’s eyes were red- rimmed as she spoke. 

Hendrix’s frown was furrowed tight as he snapped coldly, “What are you doing here?” 

“I came to visit you. When I saw that there’s no one around, I thought of pouring myself a cup of water since I’m parched having just finished work. 

“I didn’t expect you to be awake now. Do you want some water? I can pour you some too-” 

As Olivia spoke and was about to take a seat, Hendrix didn’t hesitate at all before blurting it, “Get out.” 

His cold, aloof attitude took Olivia by surprise. 

“Do you not understand what I just said?” Hendrix’s voice grew colder by the second. 

Olivia initially had a genuine look of concern on her face. But when she saw his attitude, her expression slowly fell 

She didn’t leave right away. Instead, she muttered under het breath, “You don’t have to be so harsh about it, right? I’m just here to visit you.” 

Hendrix didn’t respond. He didn’t even spare her another look. 

Olivia gritted her teeth and said, “Fine, fine. I’m the nosy one, then. I won’t come again. Happy now? 

“Don’t worry. I’ll return all the money I owe you. Once that’s done, we’ll have nothing to do with each other anymore.” 

The last part of Olivia’s sentence made Hendrix frown even more. Since when did they have anything to do with each other in the first place? Also, how could she lump them together as an “us“? 

Before Hendrix could retort, Olivia stormed out. She seemed to be a little heartbroken, but this wasn’t something that Hendrix cared about. He only cared about when Noelle had left. 

Had she misunderstood the connection between him and Olivia? 

The moment he thought about it, he grabbed his phone immediately. However, it was already midnight. If Noelle had gone back, she would surely be asleep by now. 

Realizing this, his hand halted. Alas, he tossed his phone back with a stoic expression. 

Noelle came back the next day. She had also made him something. 

This time, it was salmon chowder filled with salmon, potatoes, leeks, and carrots. The salmon was so well seasoned that there wasn’t a hint of fishy smell at all. 

Hendrix was about to ask her what happened the night before when he saw a red mark on the back of her hand. He frowned and Immediately asked, “What happened here?”
