Before the new year arrived, there was another somewhat important event–Hendrix’s birthday. 

After leaving the hospital, Noelle hesitated for a moment before heading to a nearby mall. With only a few days left until Hendrix’s birthday, there was no time to order anything custom–made. So she had to settle for something ready–made. 

As soon as she walked into a men’s clothing store, a sales associate greeted her, asking, “Mrs. Freeman, how can I assist you today?” 

Surprised to find that she was now a recognizable figure here, Noelle paused before replying, “Let me take a look first.” 

“Is there something Mr. Freeman needs? Would you like to see this? This coat is our new arrival.” 

Noelle hadn’t had anything specific in mind, but under the sales associate’s recommendations, she ended up buying a pile of items. 

She paid with Hendrix’s card, so naturally, she didn’t feel any particular emotion about it. 

But what Noelle didn’t expect was to run into Dylan as she left the store. 

He seemed to be doing just fine, but the moment he saw Noelle, his eyes first darted behind her. 

“Did you come here to shop?” he asked. 

“Yeah.” 

“For men’s clothing?” Dylan’s voice noticeably soured.

The sharp tone startled both of them. 

Before Noelle could turn around, Jean had already rushed forward and shoved her aside. 

The push was forceful, causing Noelle to stumble. 

Dylan, concerned about her pregnancy, immediately reached out to steady her. But his action only made Jean more furious. 

As she moved to lunge at Noelle, Dylan stepped in front of her. 

“What are you doing? You’re still protecting her?” Jean was trembling with rage all over. “Even now, you—‘ 

“Don’t make a scene here,” Dylan said in a low voice, grabbing her hand, “Let’s go, okay?”
