Hendrix was well aware that they were in a public space. Truthfully, he hadn't planned on doing anything inappropriate—he just wanted to tease Noelle a little.

Of course, his little stunt came with its own consequences, but seeing Noelle flustered and nervously glance around made it all worth it.

The plane soon arrived in Coppersville.

As Noelle disembarked, she was surprised to see Beatrice waiting at the airport with Rosie. The moment Rosie spotted Noelle, she rushed over and clung to her, refusing to let go.

Noelle gently hugged her back, feeling a little guilty. She couldn't help but think back to what she had done earlier—if something had really happened to her and Hendrix back then, wouldn't that have been incredibly irresponsible toward Rosie?

Thankfully, they had both returned safely. Noelle didn't say anything more, simply holding Rosie a little tighter.

Meanwhile, Beatrice was scrutinizing Hendrix from head to toe.

Hendrix knew what she was thinking and simply stood there, letting her take a good look before finally saying in a relaxed tone, "Don't worry. It's just a few scratches."

Beatrice, who had initially been concerned, frowned even more deeply at his words. "You seem quite proud of yourself."

Hendrix caught the displeasure in her voice but simply replied, "Not at all. I just want you to know I'm really fine."

Beatrice didn't respond. Instead, she turned her attention to Noelle.

"Let's go home," she said.

"Okay," Noelle replied softly. Then, she bent down to pick up Rosie.

Noelle watched as Hendrix whispered something into Rosie's ear. His voice was so low that Noelle couldn't make out what he said. But whatever it was, it had an immediate effect on Rosie.

After a moment, Rosie turned to look at Noelle. It seemed like she was wrestling with herself. But in the end, she let go of Noelle's hand.

"I'll sleep by myself tonight."

Her sudden change of heart puzzled Noelle. She was about to ask what Hendrix had said when Hendrix had already taken her hand.

"Sleep tight, then. Goodnight," he said, pulling Noelle out of the room.

"What did you say to Rosie?" Noelle asked with a frown. "And she's not even asleep yet. I should stay until she falls asleep."
