"I haven't eaten yet. Will you grab a bite with me?" Hendrix asked Noelle.

Noelle was stunned. But before she could react, Hendrix had already taken her hand and started leading her forward.

Jerry had wanted to say something to Hendrix, but all he got was a distant wave as Hendrix took Noelle straight to the car.

This was the car Hendrix had someone bring over yesterday. The once gleaming paint was now covered in splatters of mud after driving through the village's dirt roads. But he didn't mind.

It wasn't until they had driven for a while that Noelle finally snapped out of her daze. "My mom will find out!"

"Don't worry. If she gets mad at you, I'll explain it to her."

"She'll definitely hit you."

Hendrix, holding the steering wheel, glanced at her. "What? Are you worried about me?"

"Of course not!" Noelle replied immediately. Then, she turned to look out the window.

Hendrix watched her for a moment before reaching over and taking her hand.

"What are—" Noelle's eyes widened. She was about to shake off his hand when Hendrix said, "Don't move. I'm driving. And besides, my arm's still injured."

Hearing this, Noelle froze. She then looked down and noticed the layer of bandages under his white shirt, with traces of blood seeping through. She couldn't help but frown.

As if reading her mind, Hendrix quickly reassured her, "Don't worry. It doesn't hurt."

Noelle looked at him and slowly dropped her hand—the one she had intended to push him with. But the hand he was holding now felt like it was carrying an electric current, spreading from her fingertips to her heart, making her tremble ever so slightly.

"The clot isn't very large at the moment. Does she experience headaches often?"

Hendrix turned to Noelle. She, realizing they were talking about her, shook her head. "No headaches."

"We can start with IV treatment and observation. If the clot can be dissolved through other means, that would be ideal. If not, surgery will be the last resort."

Hendrix didn't want Noelle to undergo surgery in a place like this. Even the medication prescribed by the doctor was sent to his personal physician for confirmation before he dared to give it to Noelle.

Throughout the entire process, Noelle was extremely cooperative. But when they returned to the village, they found the house in complete chaos.

Irene was in a frenzy. When she saw Noelle getting out of Hendrix's car, she let out a shriek and charged forward. Then, she swung her hoe down hard onto Hendrix.
