Chapter 13:

my feet had carried me home non-stop. reaching the front door, my hands trembled as I tried turning the doorknob. succeeding, I entered the house all the way up to mom's room, barging in, whilst throwing the door open. mom sat, with Daniel beside her.

startled, they both froze at the sudden intrudance. Daniel seemed surprised as he put his hand on his heart as though he was about to die. calming down, he turned to face me, his eyes suddenly alert at my demeanour.

"Colleen, what's the matter?" he questioned.

panting, I swallowed a lump in my throat which had made it hard for me to speak. what was I going to do? swallowing, I opened my mouth as my c=voice shook with every word.

"He knows mom... and he’s going to come." I said with my heart pounding faster in my chest.

"Who is coming?" Daniel questioned at the sudden exchange between mom and I. I couldn’t bring myself to tell him what had happened.

"Calm down my love, pack up, you’re going to France. there aren’t any packs formed so you’ll be just fine." she said her eyes not meeting mine. what?

"What’s going on? who is coming? why are you leaving? you're not going anywhere if there’s danger I’m here." he said as he looked at me sternly.

"Daniel, please..." I said not finding my courage.

"No Colleen, No." he said not backing down.

"I GOT REJECTED!" I yelled in frustration as my heart clenched.

"...What?"

"I pathetically fell in love with my mate and got rejected the same way. a man like him doesn’t deserve us." I said as his eyes widened.

"You’re...Pregnant?" he asked slowly as his eyes darkened.

I looked down shamefully as I nodded at his question. Daniel growled as he turned around taking a breath. I couldn’t face him. it was too embarrassing and it was too pathetic. to think, I thought finding my mate was going to be my blessing but turns out...it was a punishment.

"Does he know? Daniel asked."

"I don’t know, please Daniel, please. I need to get out of here I don’t want him here, I don’t want him near me. please Daniel."

Daniel growled looking pissed. "What kind of idiot is he.!" he shouted banging the side table.

Sighing he rubbed his temples, his head trying to process all this newfound information. everything was happening too fast. Daniel grabbed my hand dropping a credit card in, before pulling my wrist and dragging me to the car. was he upset? calling up a person, he put the phone down and began to drive away from the house.

"Where are we going?" I questioned

"I'm getting you out of here." he said monotonously.
