Chapter 18:

**Reese's POV: (Continued)**

groaning from sleep I allowed myself to sit up. her scent washed over me in waves of sweetness and there was nothing more I wanted than to mark her as my Luna. my other Half...My mate. she shuffled beside me before finding comfort and snoring lightly again, making me chuckle at her cute behaviour.

again, I really wanted to do it again, but not wanting to wake her up in the midst of her slumber I held myself back. Colleen Anderson. the omega of the pack. this felt like another alpha and omega tale that I’ve heard countless times from those alphas considered rare. An alpha being paired with an omega was just as rare as an alpha being paired with and alpha. it was special.

but.. just as much as it was rare it was also quite dangerous.

sighing, I refused to let my negative thoughts get a hold of me. grabbing my boxers and pants that was misplaced on the floor I headed down to the quiet pack house. the party had ended a couple of hours ago, and what remained were drunk teenagers passed out on the floors of the pack house. they reeked of alcohol making me gag slightly. the one reason I hated attending gatherings like this.

it was quite bizarre how the party continued for this long even without the person the party was being held for. I couldn’t help but think over Dean's words of this being beneficial to the beta’s daughter. taking my thoughts away from something that would just put me in a bad mood I grabbed a bottle of water and decided to make my way back upstairs towards colleen.

"I see you had a wonderful time." a voice said catching my attention.

I turned around to come face to face with a man I had never seen before, but his eyes. I’d seen his eyes before. he sat in the dimly lit living room.

"Who are you?" I questioned.

he simply chuckled at my question, my annoyance getting the best of me. I had no time for this. he stood up tilting his head towards me.

"The name's daddy of the girl you just slept with." he's smile sinister and cunning.

taken aback by his words I couldn’t calm my urge to attack him. Colleen's father. the man that not only abandoned Edna but also her. Could I even call him her father?

"What do you want?” I asked as my hands clenched in anger. there was definitely something off about this man. "I f you are worried I’m going to hurt her, you can stop. she is my mate and I will love and cherish her." I stated.

"Tsk, Tsk, Tsk. As expected of an alpha of a pack as powerful as this. but you see, Alpha," he mocked. "That's the problem, I don't approve of this relationship and you're going to end it with her." he smiled making me look at him as though he had grown two heads. give up my mate? was the reason he had left them because he was unstable?

"Rejection . and you're going to take another as your Luna." he said. I stared at the man in disbelief. there was no other explanation. he had to be crazy.

"I refuse." I stated firmly. Did he think I was an alpha for no reason? but I couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was wrong with this man that stood Infront of. he looked weak, but the way he spoke made it seem as though he had something that I couldn’t attack. not at the moment though.

"What if I tell you, that I can kill your mate in an instant, by just cutting a something she owns?." he said silencing my thoughts.

"That's impossible." I said darkly. "You wouldn’t be able to unless you-" he cut me off.

"it seems the alpha is aware of what I might have done to attain such a feat." he chuckled. "Well, what can I do if the dear old alpha doesn’t believe me? might as well prove it to you then." he said as he walked to a random teenager lying drunk on the ground. Pulling a strand of hair from the unaware teenager, he pulled out a pair of scissors and cut right in the middle. Walking up to the boy, his heartbeat began fading. What was happening? Why was this happening? soon after he started withering.

he couldn’t have....

"It would hurt to know that your beloved Luna is next." he said sickeningly.

"Why would you wish to hurt your own daughter?" I said as I glared toward him.

"My daughter? she’s nothing but my pawn to success and her pain is my pleasure.” he said, as his eyes darkened. "It seems I’m too lenient in negotiating, how about we put it to the test?" he said as he walked passed me up to the room upstairs in a speed. Running after him I pushed the door open only to see him running his hand through Colleen's hair.

I took a step forwards as he pulled two stands of her hair as she slept soundless. "now Alpha, what will it be?" he asked me seriously, his expression darkening.

"I will do as you say.... just stay away from her." I said as he laughed at my decision And just simply vanished into thin air.

a deal with the devil. ha.... really and truly unexpected.

I walked towards the bed, painfully as I slipped under the covers as I pulled her closer to me. I let my fingers run on her arms, and through her hair. she was going to get hurt, but if it meant finding a way to get rid of the pest that decided to turn our lives upside down, I’d just hoped to the moon goddess she was strong enough to hold out.

**Colleen's POV:**

I stared at Reese in disbelief. My father. how funny.

"do you understand why I did it?" he asked desperately as I nodded.

"but why now, why tell Me now?" I asked him.

"I had to be sure that what I was dealing with was not going to hurt you in any way. and I know you may hate me for this, but I never felt as happy as I did making that decision, because not only would your life be in danger, but the life growing inside of you as well." he said making my heart thump at his words.
