I looked between my mother and the man, confusion clouding my brain. They looked they had know each other for the longest time ever. its quiote baffling as i felt the same way.

"Colleen honey, welcome home." mom said wiping her face, smiling towards me, dodging my question.

"Thank you, but I had asked you a question mom, please answer me, are you hiding something from me?." I asked her. She slouched a little shuffling uncomfortably.

"Colleen, honey take a seat. " she said I sat on the other side of the bed, taking deep breaths. I looked at the man and then back at my mom.

"Please explain what is happening here." I said calmly and composed.

"Well this is going to be difficult to say, but Colleen meet your brother, Daniel." right then everything froze. Brother? I have a brother?

I looked up to see him, and he smiled towards me. "No he's not." I said straight forward.

"Yes, he is." mom persuade.

"If he was my brother, where was he when you got sick? Where was he when I needed someone most? Where was he when I was stuck in the hospital praying you make it out alive? Where was he? Someone who only comes last minute cannot be regarded my family, and most of all my brother." I said, now tears were threatening to fall out of my eyes.

"Colleen you have to understand that he couldn't have been there -" I cut mother off.

"No, he's going to do what dad did, he's going to hurt this family." I said, remembering my pathetic father.
