Chapter 79 - Searching the Planet novel The Transfer
"Liam is looking for you," Christian told me as he set his food down at the table. I picked up my knife and fork as I began to eat. But my beast was too on edge to focus.
"He is?" I asked. Christian nodded at me. Nicolas cleared his throat.
Of course he was. I knew that. I just didn't want to sound desperate. I missed him so much, craved him. My beast was crazy just thinking about him.
"Henry went straight to Terialta as soon as he found out you'd escaped. Beckett says Henry was furious. Liam apparently was desperate to find you," Rae explained from next to me. I bit my lip anxiously.
"No surprise there. That kid is really hooked on you," Mason said as he placed a roasted carrot in his mouth. He chewed slowly.
"He asked me if I'd seen you or heard from you. I told him I hadn't. He's very worried about you," Nicolas told me. I sighed out and nodded at him.
I hadn't spoken to Liam in a long time. My links with everyone were weak because of the silver that I had in my system. It made my beast weak and I could barely link with the person next to me without using up all of my energy.
I was still healing.
I needed to speak to Liam, so I could tell him I was okay. He probably thought I was hurt or something.
"I plan on calling soon. They just can't know where I am. Henry will come running once he knows. He'll definitely be suspecting that Bodie will be with me," I said, looking to Bodie who sat next to me.
Christian sighed out. "I still can't believe he faked your death and locked you up for years."
Bodie chuckled and shrugged. "Yeah, me too."
"Liam knows that there's definitely something going on that he doesn't know about between you and Henry. He's worried you're going to get yourself kicked out the pack," Nicolas told me. I nodded at this. I knew that Liam was worried. I just needed to talk to him and make things right.
"I'll talk to him, I promise," I said. They all nodded as we continued eating.
"You know, once you're healed, I wouldn't mind getting to beat the shit out of you," Jax said from my right. I raised my eyebrows at him.
Was he still seriously going on about this?
"Pfft. Whatever," I said. Jax smirked and I knew he wouldn't let it go. He was too damn stubborn. My father always used to say that I got it from Jax.
After eating, Nicolas gave me a phone that I could call Liam on. It wasn't one that Liam would've had in his contacts, so he wasn't able to figure out where I was and who I was with.
I left the room and headed down to Nicolas's room where he said I could go to talk with Liam. I shut the door and sat on the bed as I called Liam's phone. I hoped he'd pick up.
The phone rang four times, and I was beginning to think that he wasn't going to answer. But then, miraculously, he answered the phone.
"Liam speaking," he answered. My beast raced around my mind with excitement.
"Liam," I breathed out in relief. He didn't sound hurt, and I sure as hell was relieved about that.
"Ali? Baby is that you?" He rushed out. I smiled happily as I felt the bond between us again. Being so far away from him was hard.
"It's me," I said, lying back on the bed. I held a hand to my chest as I smiled warmly. I wanted him next to me, or even just with me. I missed him.
"Where are you? Who the hell are you with? Are you safe?" Liam asked me a series of questions. I felt terrible that I couldn't tell him where I was.
My beast whined out. I felt Liam again, I felt him pushing, his mind trying to search. He wanted to know where I was, and if I let him, I could show him my location. But I couldn't. I had to keep him safe.
"I'm safe, Liam," I told him. I avoided his other questions, and I heard his low grumble through the phone. I could feel him getting worked up again. He wasn't going to be patient anymore.
"Answer my questions, Alison," Liam said. His lips growling out my full name was a warning. He barely ever said my full name. He liked the nicknames. I knew he was being serious.
I choked on my words. I couldn't speak. It hurt to have to lie to him. I didn't want to lie. I wanted him to be with me just as much as he wanted to be with me.
But I couldn't just let him find me. Henry would know exactly what was going on. He'd come and get me. Who in the hell knew what Henry would do to me?
"L-Liam, I can't tell you where I am," I stuttered out. I sounded like a pathetic baby. I just needed to be stern with Liam. I had to tell him that he wasn't allowed to see me.
"Alison Grey. Don't do this. Tell me where you are, or I'll spend every minute of every day trying to find you. I won't stop until I have you in my arms again," Liam growled out. I knew he wanted to see me. That was all he wanted.
But I knew he'd be mad at me for not telling him where I was. When I next saw him, I already knew he'd probably scold me. I was prepared for it.
"I can't. Not now, Liam. It's not safe," I said. I heard him growl again. I sighed softly and clutched at my chest. I wanted to tell him so badly.
"It's not like I don't want to tell you. I just can't. Not yet. We have to wait a little longer," I told him softly. the growling and grumbling stopped. I pretended that Liam was finally understanding what I was saying.
There was silence on the phone, but I knew he was still there. I wanted to talk to him in person, I wanted to tell him that I loved him and I wanted to feel his skin on mine.
As pathetic as it sounded, I craved every inch of him.
