“It will be their fault that the Yancey family falls apart. Being a victim, Ms. Yancey, you will not be to blame.”

As the suggestions became more ludicrous, Cecilia regarded the scared reporters coldly. 

Her gaze, which was cold and sharp, seemed to morph into invisible hands that gripped the throats of the reporters, effectively shutting them.

“I will remember all of you,” said Cecilia.

When the bodyguard raised his fist a second time, Cecilia reminded him, “Don’t kill him. It’s not worth it.” 

“Don’t worry, Ms. Yancey. We know what to do.” 

The pointed way he emphasized the word “we” served as a reminder to the other bodyguards. 

Then, they pounced on the journalists.

The sound of fists raining down upon flesh went on and on, with the occasional crunch of something being broken. 

Cecilia had no sympathy for the unscrupulous journalists. 

It was precisely because they distorted the facts for drama that the Internet was awash with untruths. 

Gordon and Sophia became nervous at the sight of Cecilia’s haughty recklessness. 

They did not even dare turn around to witness the misery of the 

reporters.

Cecilia came over at that moment. 

Gordon and Sophia listened to the approaching footsteps with their hearts in their throats. 

“With the failure of our scheme against Cecilia, she would undoubtedly avenge herself mercilessly!” they thought. “What should we do?” 

After they steadied themselves, Cecilia ordered, “Turn around!”

Gordon and Sophia did not want to obey, but their resolve failed them when the bodyguard clenched his fists threateningly. 

Turning around, they scowled at Cecilia. 

“What the hell do you want?” Sophia shrieked. “Isn’t ruining the Yancey family enough for you?” 

Though there were no casualties, the Yancey family was destroyed, and it pained her worse than death. 

Cecilia scoffed at Sophia, who remained ignorant of her mistakes and instead only looked at Cecilia for the reason. 

“It was enough, but you didn’t recognize reality. Instead, you insisted on making trouble for me and tried to use public opinion to destroy me.” 

Initially, she did not wish to hurt the Yancey family anymore after making the criminal evidence Juliana collected public. 

At most, she wanted to teach them a lesson, like letting Jayden go to the cinema, allowing Jeremiah to sing in a bar, shutting down Gordon’s gallery, and bankrupting Sophia’s record label. 

Those consequences did not constitute punishment for the Yancey family, which they deserved anyway after their wrongdoings. 

However, the two simpletons standing before her remained unconvinced and tried to hurt her. 

“I would be disappointing them for coming all the way to Emerald Mansion and seeking death if I let them off easy!” she thought viciously. “What do you want?” Gordon asked angrily. 

Cecilia smiled. “I want you to regret what you did tonight, of course.” 

Sophia glared at Cecilia bitterly. “We’ve lost everything. Do you want to take our lives, too?” 

“Death will be a relief for you. I will keep you alive in despair!” Cecilia replied. 

“From frugality to luxury, and from extravagance to thrift. I want to see how the Yancey family, which has nothing, live under disdain and oppression,” she thought. 

Sophia ignored Cecilia’s threat. “If you won’t kill us, let us go!” 

“You want to go? Of course, you may, but you may not walk on your feet. You will shuffle on your knees out of here.” 

Gordon’s and Sophia’s eyes widened when they heard this. They gaped at

Cecilia in disbelief. “What did you say?” 

The bodyguards repeated Cecilia’s words in unison. 

Their deafening voices reached the main building. 

Christopher smiled. “Cecilia is so adorable, but the punishment is too light.” 

After making that remark to himself, he summoned the butler. 

“Pave the way out of Emerald Mansion with gravel.” 

The butler wanted to ask Christopher where he could possibly obtain gravel in the dead of night, but before he could ask, Christopher repeated, “If you can’t find gravel, just get some broken glass. There are many bottles in the wine cellar. Go.” 

The butler was flabbergasted. 

The wine in the cellar was expensive. Even the cheapest ones cost tens of thousands of dollars a bottle. 

“What a waste of money to smash them on the road!” he thought. “It’s a 6,500–foot walk from the gates of Emerald Mansion to the next 

intersection! How many bottles will that require? I’m afraid we would have to break all the bottles in the cellar!” 

Although the butler’s mind was abuzz with thoughts, it did not show on his face. “Yes, Mr. Christopher Forte,” he replied respectfully. 

After he left the living room, it suddenly occurred to him that Christopher was building a greenhouse for Cecilia, as the latter happened to have brought two truckloads of gravel that afternoon. 

However, they were not fine gravel. They were stones half the size of his fist, ready to be mixed with cement and used for laying the foundation. 

Reluctant to smash the wine bottles, the butler immediately arranged for somebody to bring the stones out. 

As for the pain it would cause to kneel on broken bottles or stones, it was none of his concern.
