Jamison saw her and was just as surprised.

Of all the people to run into, it had to be her. Fate really had a twisted sense of humor.

He slipped off his sunglasses, his sharp, handsome features cool and unreadable as he smirked. “Miss Ivy, is there something you need?”

Ivy stared at him, momentarily stunned, but quickly regained her composure and shot back, “Do you even have a conscience? I was here first–that parking spot’s mine!”

Jamison pushed open his car door and stepped out, forcing Ivy to take a couple of steps back.

“Take a good look. This spot is reserved for medical staff,” he said, gesturing behind him as a

reminder.

Ivy followed his gaze and, sure enough, a sign above the carport read: RESERVED FOR MEDICAL STAFF.

“Wow, so doctors get special privileges now?” Ivy scoffed.

Jamison’s phone buzzed. He glanced at it, his expression turning icy. “That’s right. I do have special privileges.”

With that, he answered the call, his voice suddenly grave. “Get the patient to the ER right now. I’m here–I’ll be up in a minute!”

Before she could respond, he was already striding away.

Ivy glared at his retreating figure, clenching her teeth in frustration.

That night, when Dr. Handsome had recommended this particular OB–GYN, she hadn’t even noticed Jamison worked at the same hospital. Just her luck to run into that quack everywhere.

She could only hope Dr. Handsome knew what he was doing and that the specialist he’d recommended was actually worth the title.

Still sulking, Ivy had no choice but to park on the street and leave her number on the dashboard

in case she needed to move her car.

When she finally made it to the clinic, she found out there were more than thirty people ahead of her in line.

She sighed. All she could do was wait.

Thankfully, Katrina showed up soon after. Having a friend to chat with made the wait a little more bearable.

Ivy’s phone rang. When she saw Micah’s name flash across the screen, she already knew what this was about.

“Ivy, this is outrageous! You knew Emma’s pregnant, and yet you still cut her off on the road and

forced her off the highway! What if something happened–she and the baby could’ve died! That’s attempted murder, Ivy. That’s a crime!” Micah’s voice was furious, sharp with accusation. Ivy listened calmly, her tone unruffled as she replied, “Well, nothing happened, did it? So what are you yelling about?”

“Ivy!” Micah sounded like he was about to explode. “You’re absolutely heartless!”

it a short laugh, her voice turning cold. “Emma’s the one who insists on reckless What does that have to do with me? My dashcam recorded everything. She’s a terrible ver and wanted to show off, but she crashed on her own–who else is to blame?”

On the other end, Emma was listening, seething with rage. She clutched her belly and groaned, “Micah…”

Micah tossed his phone aside and immediately wrapped Emma in his arms, trying to comfort her. “I’m right here. Don’t worry, we’ll be at the hospital soon–it’ll be okay.”

Emma sobbed, “Micah, do you think something might happen to our baby?”

“No, no, don’t even think that,” Micah soothed her anxiously, then, gritting his teeth, added, “Ivy’s really changed. I can’t believe she’d do something this cruel to you.”
