Nicky went back to work at Grant Corporation since she had moved back into the villa.

However, she did not seem to be welcomed when she returned.

After what happened that day, most people avoided her, worried that if they were to hurt her even a little, her mother would come to settle accounts with them.

I pushed open the door and Nicky looked up at me. When she saw that it was me, her initially calm expression brightened up. " Wanda."

She smiled and greeted me.

I pulled the chair across from her and sat down. "Are you okay?"

I ask directly without preluding anything.

Nicky was stunned for a moment. She then seemed to understand and smiled. "It's nothing, I don't mind it."

Not knowing why, I looked back at her. " What is it?"

Nicky shook her head with a small smile at the corners of her mouth. "It's fine. Let's work first."

After she said that, she lowered her head and went back to her tasks.

I asked no more and opened the door before leaving the office.

Just after I went out and sat down in my seat, my mind fogged. Her incomplete sentence... Did she want to remind me of something? Was Hattie going to do something after?

I held my chin and thought but could not figure it out.

Nature would take its course, and I would just go with the flow.

With a sigh, I started checking the data while leaving personal matters aside for

the time being.
