Theo tended to my wound with much care but did not respond to my question.

Could it be that he did not want me to know about it…

After hearing their conversation, however, I would find it difficult to hold onto my curiosity without asking anything.

I looked at Theo. His expression was calm, his anger likely already seeped away. "I heard Neil call you brother. Are you two… brothers?” My tone was calm, and my question was careful.

I noticed Theo's actions slowing down, but he continued to treat my wound. The expression on his face was a little cold, and his tone was even colder as he replied, "No."

“Why would he call you that if you’re not brothers?” I asked again.

Theo’s handsome face was sullen, and he exhaled heavily. "He’s just a child born to a vain woman. There’s nothing else to say.”

Vain woman… Was he referring to Neil’s mother?

Could Theo and Neil be siblings from different mothers?

My mind supplied me with a feud between the giants, but I had no idea what the truth was.

I wanted to ask more but Theo was done tending to my wound. “You should avoid getting it wet the next few days. You ought to be careful in the future.”

“I know,” I replied after swallowing my questions back down.

Theo looked down at me. “Do you want to go up and rest now?”

“Of course. Carry me.” I spread my arms wide, asking for him to pick me up.

He finally let out a light laugh before carrying me into his arms and bringing me upstairs.

“Am I fat? Your steps are heavy.”

“No. You can stand to eat more.”

Shannon nodded repeatedly. “True. Of course, Theo won’t let him off the hook either. Anyway, aren’t you happy I came to accompany you today?"

"Of course. But if you’re here, is Marius alone at the company? Will he be able to manage?”

"Of course. His capabilities are far superior. He’ll, of course, be fine. But I didn't expect Marius to be quite skilled. He’d only just joined Green Orange yet he’s already secured two lists of orders.”

This proved that I was right about him.

"He may be sloppy, but he’s still very serious about his work."

"Indeed. Not bad, President Lane. You have a perfect husband, not to mention an extraordinary protector. I envy you so much."

"Stop talking nonsense."

I was aware of Marius’ feelings. I had rejected him, but it was obvious that he still had not given up. I also tried to distance myself, but this only seemed to hurt him even more. What should I do?
