When I got home that evening, it was already late, but I noticed that the light in the study was on and knew that Theo was inside.

"Can I come in?" I knocked on the door and asked softly.

"Come on in.”

I could hear the exhaustion in Theo's tone. He must have been busy today.

I pushed open the door and saw him sitting at his desk, his head buried in paperwork. I had wanted to ask him about the issue regarding the Golden-O counterfeits, but seeing him so busy, I decided to leave first.

Theo had not returned to the room by the time I stepped out of the bathroom. I went to make a cup of tea before stepping into the study once again. “Have some tea to refresh yourself.”

"Thank you."

Theo looked up at me quickly, the corners of his mouth curving upward slightly before lowering his head again to go back to work.

I did not want to disturb him but wanted to accompany him. Thus, I went back to the room and grabbed my laptop before plopping myself onto the bean bag to deal with some work.

Time passed minute after minute, and before I knew it, I had fallen asleep.

When I woke up again, I saw Theo half-crouched before me trying to cover me with a blanket. I grabbed his hand. “Are you done with work?” It was clear from my voice I had just woken up.

He shot me a light smile that was brighter than the light.

"Yes, thank you for waiting for me." Theo's voice was soft with some affection mixed into it.

I shook my head and moved the blanket away. Putting my laptop aside, I got up and faced Theo. “You’re welcome. I wanted to ask you if you’d forgotten what you promised Nibel.”

"Of course not." Theo reached out and rubbed my head, the smile on his lips deepening. "I’ve contacted the major newspapers. They’ll have us on their headlines tomorrow.”

Finally, the issue that I had been worried about for so many days was resolved. My heart finally eased itself to the ground.

I breathed a sigh of relief. "Good. I hope it’ll spread as soon as possible so that this matter can pass."

"You’re so sensible all of a sudden. I feel overwhelmed by this favor." Theo raised a brow, joy on his face.

"Could it be that you’d rather I pursue you about it till the end? You’d be miserable then.” I pursed my lips. There was a deviousness in my smile.

Theo quickly waved his hand. “Forget it. Please be a sensible wife."

"I know you men like that."

"I love everything about you.”

His sweet words always came so abruptly.

Not able to conceal my sleepiness, I yawned. Theo saw this and picked me up. "If you're sleepy, let's go back to the room and sleep."

"Yes. It's nice not to have to get there myself." I hugged Theo and rest my head in his arms with a smile on my face.
