He walked up to me and wrapped his arms around my waist. "Are you hungry?"

I stuck my face on his chest, my voice a little muffled." I’m okay, Theo."

I was really okay. I just found it hard to control my emotions sometimes.

I had to lie to myself. If I was really terminally ill, then I would completely collapse.

He embraced me and patted my back gently, seemingly coaxing a child. "I know. You just need a good rest."
