The morning of the thirteenth came calmly. The sky was beautiful; the clouds were cotton white and just enough to decorate the blue canvas. The lake was sparkling under the sunlight, clear and reflecting the expanse of blue and white above.
The trees, under the excellent grooming of Senan the hidden gardener, were lush green and picturesque, hugging the lake and the estate like a neat blanket. All kinds of flowers bloomed around the white house with a blue roof, filling the neatly arranged beds and flanking the walkway leading to the backyard.
The backyard itself was a spread of green grass--at least usually. This time, long tables covered in white clothes were arranged in the section closer to the house, while flower-adorned white chairs were arranged around round tables in the section closer to the lake.
And leading to the lake itself was a white dock flanked by wooden railings. Climbing roses had made their home along the railings, and small bouquets had been tied up on some sections to give some additional spark.
It was a beautiful venue in a beautiful location. The sky, the lake, and the estate looked ethereal.
At least on the outside.
Inside the white house, it was pandemonium.
The basement level and the first floor were filled with people fleeting around. Someone always had to do something or carry some stuff, sometimes while chewing food and drinking water. Even the children were behaving themselves, helping out simply by staying still.
In the midst of the lower floors’ hell, someone was flung out of his room along with his luggage, so he had no choice but to move to another room on the first floor.
"Wow...I can’t believe I got kicked out of my bedroom," Bassena tilted his head and sighed in exasperation, glancing up as if he could see past the ceiling.
Well...technically, he could send his children of darkness inside, but Reina would be sending him death glares in that case.
"It’s more thrilling that way," Radia, who was there before his parents and grandmother, commented with a chuckle. For some reason, he already had a glass of champagne in his hand.
Bassena clicked his tongue. "How do you know? You come to the registry table together!"
Radia just laughed and shrugged. Han Joon leaned down and asked the summoner teasingly.
"Hmm...should we redo it?"
"No," Radia rejected immediately. "The honeymoon was thrilling enough for me."
"Oh, right!" Han Shin snapped his fingers and pointed them at Bassena. "What about yours?"
The three of them turned toward the groom, who had finished changing into a suit. Even Reina’s staff who was in charge of styling his hair took a peak at Bassena.
"Uhh..." there was a complicated expression on the esper’s face. "I can’t exactly do anything...extreme."
Han Shin snorted. "Since when did you have to do extreme stuff on a honeymoon?"
"Since ’thrill’," Bassena rolled his eyes. "Anyway, we’re going to the Far East."
"...to work?"
They looked at Bassena skeptically, knowing the two’s penchant to drown themselves in business. For all they knew, there was only work waiting inside an underdeveloped area like the Far East district.
"To visit the Guardian Tree and have fun with the Sea Serpent," Bassena shrugged.
"Oh, yeah--that’s something only you two can do!" Han Shin clapped his hands. No one else was allowed to enter the area around the Guardian Tree, and the Sea Serpent did not listen to anyone.
And that actually sounded fun, tsk.
"Only Zein--but I’m a plus-one," Bassena chuckled. "We’re also going to check on the house’s progress."
"How very productive," Radia said sarcastically. No matter what, nothing exactly screamed ’honeymoon’ so far.
"Well, they were already producing something," Han Joon, on the other hand, smirked mischievously.
"Hey!"
The sound of Bassena’s flusters shout and the others’ laughter could be heard even from the master bedroom where Zein was.
"What are those men doing?"
"Boy’s talk? I don’t know."
Reina made a curious remark with her staff while making a last check on Zein’s outfit. It wasn’t a complicated one or anything, but she had to make sure no threads were sticking out and no blemish accidentally smeared anywhere. Just as Reina declared that everything was properly ready, someone knocked on the door and opened it slightly.
"Umm...Zein?" a middle-aged woman peeked inside the room and gasped when she caught the sight of Zein. "Oh!"
