Chapter 306
Jessica knew there would be no answer.
His car trailed hers all the way to the Grant Group’s parking lot.
But when she finally pulled into her designated spot and instinctively glanced behind her, it was gone.
Only then did she remember she’d already instructed security not to let him in.
He must have been stopped at the gate. That was probably for the best.
As she lowered her gaze, her eyes caught the breakfast bag left on the passenger seat.
Jessica stared at it in silence for a long moment before finally picking it up.
She told herself it was simply hunger, that she didn’t want the food to go to waste.
Inside the bag, the pancakes were neatly wrapped and still warm.
Jessica took a bite, and the taste made her eyes narrow in quiet pleasure.
Then she picked up a second one.
By the time she looked down again, the bag was empty, just the right amount, as if he’d known exactly how much she would eat.
Her heart stirred with something she couldn’t quite name.
Carrying the empty bag, she stepped into the elevator just as Sana arrived for work.
“Jesus, you look wrecked,” Jessica blurted out, taking in Sana’s pronounced dark circles. “What time did you finally crash last night?”
“Three a.m.,” Sana replied with a bitter edge. “It’s infuriating.”
After being reported the previous day, Sana had created a new account to continue sparring with fans in the comment sections, only to have it reported and shut down once again.
She wanted to make yet another account, but work had kept her too busy.
The ordeal should have ended there, but before bed, Sana had been recommended two novels based on Brian and Jessica’s story.
The plots were outrageous. One of them even portrayed Jessica chasing after her ex–husband like some love–struck fool.
Sana had nearly thrown her phone across the room. She thought angrily, ‘Jessica? Chasing Brian? Are they out of their minds?‘
Naturally, she couldn’t let that slide. She made another account just to leave some harsh truths in the comments, on!
again.
Already frustrated, her anger only intensified.
et mobbed by rabid fans
Already on edge, she lost her temper completely. She stayed up fuming, arguing, reporting, and reposting until her third account got banned too.
Now, bleary–eyed and bitter, she was staring at her appeal form, still pending review.
It was then that she noticed the breakfast bag in Jessica’s hands and frowned
“Jessi, is that bastard bothering you again?” she asked sharply.

“Well…” Jessica hesitated, unsure whether to be honest, sensing Sana’s sour mood.
“You’re too soft, Jessi. That’s why he keeps coming back. Next time he shows up, call me. I’ll handle him.”
All her accumulated rage from the fan wars needed an outlet, and Brian was the perfect target.
