Chapter 394
At least this way, she’d have to spend as little time with him as possible. Hearing that, Brian nodded. “Got it”
Receiving her clear, order, Brian said nothing more. With a smooth turn of the wheel, he headed straight for the apartment they currently shared
Meanwhile, Wesley tailed Sana all the way to her neighborhood. He watched as she got out, made her way into the local market, and reappeared with bags of groceries.
Spotting her struggling with a large watermelon, Wesley promptly pulled over, hopped out of his car, and hurried over to help.
“Let me take that for you,” he said, taking the
watermelon from Sana before she could protest.
Sana rolled her eyes so hard she almost saw the back of her head. “Are you serious right now? Is this fun for you?”
Wesley just looked at her with a quiet smile, answering only i in his mind, ‘It’s fun. If I don’t keep doing this, we really won’t have a future together.
Sana was momentarily dazzled by his smile, and her heart skipped a beat. Snapping back to reality, she turned on her heel and walked away, thinking, ‘Damn it. He’s pulling his face card on me now? Will I give in if he keeps this up? No way!‘
Wesley followed her from just the right distance–not too close to crowd her, not too far to lose her. Spotting a fresh fruit stand along the way, he even pulled over and picked out a few more kinds of fruits for her.
Out of the corner of her eye, Sana caught a glimpse and pressed her lips together. She wondered, ‘Does he really need to go this far just because he feels responsible for what happened?‘
‘But if it’s not that, could it really be because he actually likes
me?‘ However, she couldn’t bring herself to believe that. In the end, she could only keep telling herself, ‘He’s doing all this because he feels obligated and nothing more.’
Wesley saw her stop in her tracks and thought she’d finally relented, only to watch in dismay as she suddenly took off running.
“Sana!” he called out instinctively, immediately breaking into a run after her. With one fleeing and one chasing, they soon reached the neighborhood
gate.
Sana was running so fast that she nearly crashed straight into the barrier at the entrance. Wesley, right behind her, lunged forward and grabbed her waist, yanking her safely into his arms. “Watch out.”
“Let go! I don’t need your fake kindness!” Sana shoved at him furiously, her eyes burning with rage. Wesley sighed helplessly and released his grip on her
in the end.
The moment she was free, Sana rushed forward, using facial recognition to unlock the gate and slip inside, with Wesley hot on her heels.
The security guard, who had seen everything and assumed they were just a squabbling young couple, didn’t even try to stop him.
Sana charged forward without stopping until she reached her building. It was only when Wesley caught up, carrying the watermelon and handing it to her, that she realized he had actually followed her inside.
“You-” she started, glaring at him.
Wesley said gently, “I didn’t bring any gifts this time, so I’ll hold off on visiting your parents for
now.”
“Like I care!” Sana snapped angrily. Then, all of a sudden, it
ith
“Wait, who said you could meet my parents? Wesl
don’t you dare cross that line?”
“Alright, I crossed the line. It’s all my fault, so don’t be mad, okay?” Wesley replied, his tone calm and patient as ever.
Sana’s anger flared at that. “Don’t give me that! You’re acting like I’m the one being unreasonable here. The fact is, we have nothing to do with each other. You have no reason at all to meet my parents.”
