Jake squeezed my hand. I saw his worry and offered a reassuring smile and

motioned him to lower his head. He did, and I kissed his cheek. Turning away,

my ears flushed.

Grant saw this, feeling conflicted. He found that I was really happy with

Wanda, in her heavy dress, approached. She saw me talking to Jake

Suppressing the jealousy, Wanda forced a smile.“Grant, it’s almost time. You

should get ready.”

She pushed his wheelchair, but his gaze lingered on us.

Grant didn’t know if this would be his last time seeing me. He knew that we were officially done. He looked at his legs and scarred hand.
