(Late for love) Chapter 22 

To have a family with Grant used to be my dream. But I decided to give up

on him after so many disappointments. I married Jake on impulse and for my

grandpa. Luckily, I got a lot of love from him.

My card was right. What about Grant’s? It said he would lose the love of his

life forever.

It seemed to be right, too, but I didn’t believe he loved me. The one he loved

was the past me who kept giving without expecting anything in return. My

departure made him realize that he couldn’t afford to lose me, but it was too lice

Feeling queasy, I left the wedding early. Jake, who was concerned, took me

to the hospital.

We went to the ER, and then the gynecology. The doctor asked me about my

last period, and then we realized that I was two weeks late.

“Has it ever been this late?” the doctor asked.

I shook my head. It was the first time. We did a test, and it said I was four

weeks pregnant.

“Jake, I’m pregnant!”
