Chapter 6

Antonio didn’t see me at home, so he headed to his parents‘ place.

“Where is Grace? Is he here?”

Axel and Helen paused. When they saw the medical charts in Antonio’s hand, they closed their eyes with resignation. “I finally know why Grace. insisted on divorcing you.”

“What are you talking about? I didn’t agree to divorce Grace.”

“Grace said you’d signed a divorce agreement. I know you care about her, so I didn’t understand why you wanted to divorce her. But now I do. What was going on the day of the fire?”

Helen snatched the medical charts over in anger, tears, pouring down her checks.

“Didn’t you know? Didn’t Grace tell you?” Antonio seemed to realize something.

“Grace said you had to deal with something urgent. Then, I saw Kiana’s post and knew it wasn’t true. I heard that Kiana was also in the fire. Why didn’t Kiana get any injuries?”

Antonio panicked and unlocked his phone. However, he didn’t find the post that Axel and Helen could see.

Kiana did it on purpose!

“Why did Kiana do that?”

It hit Antonio. He realized that Kiana could have lied to him about many things.

Axel snorted.

“She wants to drive a wedge between you and Grace. She can only be with you after you and Grace divorce.”

Antonio turned to Axel with a puzzled look. “She had many chances to get together with me. Why bother?”

“She thought she was dating a rich man, so she didn’t choose you. But after marriage, she found that even our family was richer than her husband’s family.”

Helen played a video that she had kept for a long time.

It was Kiana and Kole Howard’s wedding. Kiana pretended to be an innocent girl in front of Antonio. But in the video, she was wearing a translucent wedding dress and making out with Kole while her arms were

around Kole’s neck.

Kole’s friend teased, “Mrs. Howard, I heard that you had a boyfriend who was great to you. Why did you choose Mr. Howard over him?”

Kiana responded with scorn, “Not a boyfriend, just a backup for me. I didn’t want Grace to get her way, so I strung Antonio along.”

Antonio froze. After he watched the whole video, he clenched his fists.

The video showed Kiana’s true colors. Antonio couldn’t believe he had been so stupid, and he regretted insulting Grace in the hospital.
