"But I need to protect Mommy!" Ben said seriously.

He blinked his eyes and said, "Last night, Dan and I woke up at midnight but we saw you spank mommy. Did mommy do something wrong?"

Both Dan and Ben saw it. And they heard Jane's cries so they thought that Jane got hurt. They remembered that William told them that corporal punishments were bad.

"Yes, Daddy. Why do you always hug Mommy?" Dan asked.

Dan had seen it more than once. He also saw that William kissed and hugged Jane. They felt that William took Jane's love away so they were jealous of William.
